Silly Question about summer wheels

When you guys switch from winter to summer wheels or vice versa, and you DON'T DIY, how do you transport the wheels and still keep the car clean?

What do you mean? Like how do you get the rims and tires to the shop? IF i were to have it done i would put them in the car. Lay a old blanket down on the seat and put what i could in the trunk.

But if its just mounting the rims on the car i wouldnt ever imagine bringing it to a shop to do. I would do my self.

There's a place here that comes to your house or office and does it on the spot. A 2nd set of tires and wheels won't fit in a S2000.

I don't swap...but when I switched from my old rims to my new, Discount Tire put the old rims each in their own bags. They put 2 in the trunk and laid 2 on the seats. Now I have 2 12" subs though...so I would just put them in the back seat.

Just buy a floor jack. Man it's a 30 minute job (and that's when you have a beer between each wheel).

I have tire totes for my wheels. They cost a few bucks, but its easier than doing garbage bags with cardboard each time I swap. Plus they have carrying handles which is nice since I put my wheels in a indoor storage unit so it makes them easier to move around.

Although as its been said, it takes only a couple minutes to do yourself with a floor jack. Plus you can torque the lug nuts yourself so you know you will actually be able to get the wheel off if you ever get a flat.

+1 I am not handy at all around the house, and I was able to do it myself after buying a floor jack from sears. I don't know what the tire places charge, but I would bet after a couple of swaps you're in the black.

No need for different wheels now, but when we lived in NY I would put on my winters in December and my summers in late March. Did it right in my driveway in no time...

You can use trash bags. Like the lawn and leaf bags.

Since you specifically said "DIDN'T DIY" figured I'd add this.

The very first year I did this we had a new house and I really didn't have any tools yet... so I brought them to my tire place with two wheels/tires in the trunk, two in the back seat (laid a blanket down). Brought the winter set home the same way.

Ya I have a floor jack and I do it myself on all my cars. Total of 4. Ya it's a PIA, but it does save you some money. I know that Towne Fai Tires changes them for free if you bought them from them, but I've heard garages charging like $30 to change them.
