Stick with stock, if anything loose the chrome finish and get them powder coated matte black, matte bronze or matte gunmetal.
Here is what matte bronze looks like (picture courtesy rondog)

Hey, my stockies DO look a lot like the RonJon Legends.
On the V forum, several members have sent off their stockies to be black chromed at California Chrome. They appear to do a lot of high-end cars. They charge $135/wheel + shipping + unmounting, remounting, Roadforce balancing (I'd need this last done because my spare set has tires on and I'm not having them unmounted, only to have the dealer scrape the newly modded wheels.). Overall, a reasonable price to pay rather than going aftermarket. I'll have to call them and ask how much to powdercoat them gunmetal. I think either effect would be fabulous on my silver car.
Or then, I may not do anything. I will be sure to share the result of whatever decision I end up with.

Drop is planned. We V owners are awaiting springs specifically for our application as we require a system that doesn't screw up the Magnetic Ride Control. There is one such setup in development.

Personally I think the wheels could be an inch larger than what you currently have. It seems as if there is very little brake clearance.

If you need any renderings on a CTS-V I have a few.

Plus, stay away from ADV1-SW put them on his TTG and we were going to put them on my V; however, ADV1 took twice as long to get SW his wheels and were generally a pain to deal with. Not worth the money . . .

first i would drop the car...even with a great drop, the car would already look good with the stockies..but if u decide to change the wheels, here's an idea of other choices..these were a couple i have that may give u an idea..
Black Chrome:
Junction Produce Scaras:
Work T1S Step-lip (great for high-end cars): Matt center, anodized lip
But if you want the concave look, then I choose the 7.1's too...just please lower the car...i agree that cars with nice wheels look horrible at stock height
