should i bite the bullet...
should i bite the bullet...
i just bought my accord coupe like 3 months ago, and now subaru has released the revised WRX with 265hp......
i've always wanted a wrx since i was a kid, and now is the best time ever to buy a car since the dealerships are really desperate....
should i keep the accord coupe(decent gas mileage, very attractive car) or get the wrx (mucho faster, styling of 5-door is def a grown taste for it)

Keep it unless you've got money to burn or you're not going to lose much on the Accord. I mean seriously, if you lose anymore than $1000 I don't see how its going to be worth it. IF you can sell it for the same/more then I would definitely go for it.
I really can't vote because the choices are all wrong. The correct answer is to keep what you've got unless someone will give you what you paid for it.
Now, you will be going down a step in interior from the Honda. It's not that the Imprezza is a bad car, it just has a rental grade look to the interior. You'll love the performance, but think about it before you jump. That's all.

If you ALWAYS wanted a WRX and you can afford it and don't mind taking a hit on your trade in, then get the WRX.
For me, I would keep the Accord. But that's because I just won't want to take the hit on the trade in. It is a good time to get a new car, but with the economy being what it is, I just won't be able to justify spending more on a new car, insurance and gas. But that's me. Maybe your situation is different.

from what im hearing about other people trading in, they're getting about $21k trade in for 3k miles on a lx-s automatic.
i havent even broken 3k yet, and i paid $20,600 before taxes and yes, my car was brand new.

the only people dumping 3k-mile cars these day are those that just filed for chapter 11. but to voluntarily decide on doing this...wow.
yeah it's a good time to buy a car, but you will be taking an uneccessary hit on trade-in to get a car you really want. this logic is no different then being in a situation where you do not have the accord, and walked on the a dealer lot willing to pay a $5,000 mark-up on a new WRX. b/c essentially that is the amount of $ you are throwing away to step inside one. just food for thought.

so ask yourself this:
if you did not own the accord. the market was up. WRXs were overpriced. you walked on to the subaru lot and saw an WRX sitting there for $5,000 over sticker. would you buy it??
do you still need to have it??

I voted for keeping the accord. It's a very nice looking car, and you won't have to be dealing with another car payment. I say, if anything, mod your accord. If you already have....then just have fun with it.

Cars are a losing investment anyway. Why make it worse by trading in an almost new car? You're gonna get hammered. I don't care what you've heard about people getting for trade-ins... until you're offered that amount it's just hearsay which doesn't mean dick. Even worse you'd be trading it in for a car with higher insurance and much worse gas mileage. So that would just add to the anal seepage from the rape.
Keep your car and enjoy it. Save some money and maybe get off of mommy and daddy's teet. Plus, the new WRX isn't so nice.

Wish I lived with my parents, dude u just got your car, in 3 months if u took a big loss on the accord, would u go trade in the wrx cuz something better came along?
i'd rock the Accord until for atleast 4 more years in late 2012(as a 2013 model) we(Honda) are scheduled to release the next generation Accord. believe it or not the engineers at work(I work for Honda) are already working on the VERY early stages of the 2013 Accord. they are putting finishing touches on the 2010 new model Civic. i'd see what the 2013 Accord looks like and go from there.
On a sidenote: there's more and more american engineers each generation for the american Accord. i think on the 2003-2007 there was like 3-4 japanese engineers for design. on the 08 Accord there only 1. I think 2013 it will be pure American. now they will have to present it in front of corp. Honda but Honda of America is getting it's "own groove" just kind of like a kid growing up. the parents eventally have to let go.
I vote keep the accord.
Also remember that yes it's a good time to buy a car, it's not a good time to finance a car. The bank owns it not you. What happens in 6 months when you loose your job? Or something else you can't control happens. With this economy you never know.
It's a car be happy with what you got.

New WRX looks like a hairy asshole anyways...
