Warning: Stupid question ahead.
I daily a TL-S because college is expensive. I bought this car to be a daily/show car pick-up-girls car. I live in washington and contrary to popular belief it doesn’t actually snow much here, but it sure does rain. I’d like to get new tires for the ol girl, and have seen many cars with semi-slicks like the Toyo Proxes R888Rs, and think those would be pretty sexy.
However, I like my car so I’d like to keep it out of a ditch. Are there any semi-slick tires similar to the one pictured that would be suitable for use in heavy rain WITHOUT hydroplaning into a semi. Again, I’m going for safety first, sexiness in a close second. Thanks for the feedback in advanced.
most summer race tread comes with water evacuation channels to help prevent hydroplaning!
however; once the tire wears down to the wear mark, the tire becomes sketchy real quickly..
so, if $$ is a concern, you're going to go through tires very quickly...because once they become sketch, you're going to wanna buy a new set asap to get that new water evac channel back
@dragoneatr , keep in mind, the Toyo Proxes R888R tires are meant for "Racetrack and Autocross Only", yes, they are DOT legal, but they are not meant for use on the roads. As for their wet weather ratings, on a scale of 1 to 10, they rank a 1, so if you drive in the rain, there is a pretty good bet you're going to find a ditch. The other thing to consider is, such tires are A) expensive, and B) are highly unlikely to last much longer than eight or ten thousand miles before they're completely worn out.

No. Buy tires meant for the road.
Also, if you want to pick up girls get a puppy and not a car.

I would have gone with some semi-slick Federals (specifically one of the 595-RS series), but I’m not sure how to check their weather rating. None of the sites I’ve window shopped have had anything like that. Do you recommend any websites that give the specific (and honest) 1-10 ratings for certain weather conditions? I’ll go to les schwab if I can’t get any info online.

Tire rack has that under ratings charts and reviews for each tire model they sell.
Track/race tires are meant to cope with high loads and temp's. If you don't warm them up there will not be any grip for you to use! Most summer/track tires are not capable of grip below 40F and as well the tread will crack since it's too brittle at those temps. Weight those factors before you drop $800 on a set of "sexy" tires that won't let your car move safely.
Spend the money on an actual "fun-car" rather than your daily driver and you'll have way more fun, and it'd probably be epic to be able to not wreck your car and have a good date with the right tires.

I can vouch for this, under 40F and it's like driving around on hockey pucks.
Nope.
But, do I care?
Also, it's on the Flex/Mommymobile.
How a tire looks is probably the lowest criteria for me. Wet performance, tire wear, dry performance, cost all much much higher points than appearance.

Is OP confused between Sexy Stance and Sexy Tires?
Let's be honest, if he's trying to pull chicks with a car and thinks the tires are going to push him over the edge, he isn't getting any sexy time at all and maybe confused on what sexy means.

I dont know how it is now.. but back in the days... we could pull chicks with ANY car.... if you had a car in HS, you were the coolest kid.
I seriously doubt that is still the case now.

It's not. I still maintain that pulling chicks is far more effective with puppy than car.
UPDATE:
I’ve taken all of your feedback into account and now I’ve pulled the trigger on the PERFECT tires. I’m now averaging 4-6 girls a night with my new setup. Thanks for keeping me from going full ricer, I’ve converted to jambalaya.
Honestly though, I knew it was a stupid question and I knew I might get flamed. I’m new and trying to educate myself so I don’t look like an idiot. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

If a girl is willing to jump on you because of Sexy tires, i dont know if she is a keeper or not..
On 1 hand, she is so un-materialistic and she is satisfied with the most basic things. On the other hand, if she could jump on you for tires, what would she do to other guys if they offered her some rims
