Seatbelts...
Who wears them? National average is up to 76 or so percent with the two highest states being Alaska and Hawaii tied for usage at 95%. Washington comes in 3rd at 92.5% and Oregon at 92%. Personally, I always buckle up; you never know.

Always. Ever since I got a ticket for not wearing one and after hearing of all the deaths because people were thrown from their car during an accident. Although I never wear one if I'm riding in the back seat, which is rarely.

I didn't used to. I was a hypocrite; made the kids buckle up, but I didn't.
Then, I got a RepMobile and the seatbelt was required in order to maintain the accident injury and travel accident insurance. So I got in the habit; that was about 6 years ago.
Once it's a habit, it's easy. Maybe a little "uncomfortable" or "unusual" when you first start, but after a little while, you don't even notice.

And I make sure my passengers are buckled too before moving. It's so much of a habit that sometimes I put it on without even realizing it even if I'm just moving my car in my driveway.

Interestingly enough, when seatbelts were fist introduced, there was public outcry that they weren't needed. Most people felt seatbelts were for race cars only, and mocked the idea of needing them in regular cars. Then there were a slew of "studies" that showed seatbelts were somehow more dangerous.
In any case, we've come a long way from there. Sometimes I wonder if in the future drivers, and maybe even passengers will be required to wear helmets in cars. It seems ridiculous now (as did seatbelts 50 years ago), but it would certainly save lives.

To those who don't wear them when you're just driving around town, that's when you should have it on the most. Statics show that most accidents happen with in a mile of where you live.

When I was in the Air Force, we were told that if you drove at anytime, POV or Govt. vehicle, you had to have your seatbelt on. If not they wouldn't pay any medical bills from not wearing it. I've been wearing a seatbelt for 22 years. This was also the case for not wearing a helmet while on a motorcycle.

Don't even think about it when I put it on, it's just second nature.
When I was little, my mom never inforced it so I didn't bother but for some reason, the day I got my liscense, it just becamse habit.
And if you don't you're insane. Way too many deaths because of a lack of seatbelts...

100% of the time & I make my front passenger before I move the car. I have had people get out & never ride with me again cause they didn't want to wear a seatbelt. Die in your own car from your own stupidity, not mine.

When I was younger I did most of the time. That is, until the dashboard introduced itself to my face. Now i always wear it and so do my passengers. I'm not paying the fine just because the seatbelt was too uncomfortable for you.

<--When I was young and dumb the seatbelts in my car kept me and my buddy from kissing the windshield. I know a few others that walked away from accidents with only a seatbelt bruise across their body.
