Well i say, maybe i need this. Since my car has had that rotten egg smell when i floor it. I took it in dealer and they knew the smell. They knew what needed to be done. I was actually going to scan the the work order so you guys in the 3gen could see and know about and look at the codes for those of you know who about this.

Note.
Car still does it. They said its the way the car burns its fumes. Dont really know. I thought it was the catalitic(sp) converter and residue(sp). But they say first step is tune engine. go figure....

If your TL is emitting a rotten egg smell, I would suspect either a fuel problem or something wrong with the ECU. TL's don't normally emit this smell (just like most every other modern car out there). There was a time some years ago when this was very common (it seemed particularly common with GM cars), but modern fuels and cats are quite compatible and should not cause the rotten egg odor.

It's possible that your area's fuel is doctored with additives that could be the root of this problem.

I'll scan my work order form. So you guys can see. All they did was adjust the computer to burn the fuel different. Tahts what i understood. but they didnt change my cat. It still does it. So when i take it back maybe they can look into looking at my cat. Also.. the fuel DOES make a differ. shell and amoco make me smell. Chevron ALOT less smell. thats why i have stuck on CHEV.
