This car is sister to the Vauxhall VX 220, which isnt a bad car IMHO. All this coz GMC now owns vauxhall

It also borrows designing cues from the vauxhall concept VX Ligtning.

Funny how the word "SATURN" was not placed anywhere on the car. Just the logo in front and back and the word "SKY".

This car will get people to think of Saturn again. IMO it will sell very well for a roadster, but it's not going to make them much money because comparitively, sales volume will be low, just BECAUSE it's a roadster. When the Aura comes out it might attract more buyers to Saturn.

Not bad. I would only get the turbo version or the rare LS2 version, though.

The parking lines/sign on the ground say otherwise, but holy shit does that look like a toy car. That fake depth of field blur really kills the pic.

Supercharged version coming out next year... That would be a fun car.

I like it better than the Solstice. I still wouldn't buy one, though. I would much rather spend more money and get an S2000.

Actually, while the Sky is based off the the Lightning Concept car, the car is not related to the Vauxhall at all. The VX 220 was based off the same chassis as the Lotus Elise, while the Sky is based off of a brand new chassis that will be shared with the Pontiac Solstice.

Personally, I'd rather take the Vauxhall, its sub 2200 lbs curb weight, and more hardcore personality, but that isnt what GM wants to sell here anyway.

The problem with the Sky and the Solstice is too much weight and not enough power. I like the cars esp. the way the Sky looks but if they weigh in at 2800+ lbs and the supercharged version has 220-240hp, why wouldnt I get a S2000?

If they happened to weigh under 2500 lbs and have a 220-240hp version, then we'd be talking or if it weighs 2800+ lbs, I'd like to see at least 270hp. I dont think either is going to happen.

One question: How exactly is the Sky going to be more upmarket than the Solstice other than having more standard equiptment?

The more powerful Solstice / Sky will have a Turbo version of the Ecotech instead of SC'ed like in the Cobalt SS. The thread below has spy pictures of the engine. I'm actually glad it will be Turbo vs SC'ed.

That car is awesome, i will be checking it out as an option for my girl. If she likes it, i will wait a litttle and see if they drop a forced induction version. If they do i will jump on that one. The new Miata has so much competition this time around.
