I don't expect much from people, let alone pieces of shit. I pretend in my head karma will get them and move on. I got better things to do than police retards and my kids would be really disappointed if I went away over some bs pride.

It's not the expectation of people to be decent
It's the opportunity to do what their parents should have done years ago
and beat their fucking ass

Really it's knowing shit probably won't get to that point
But not saying something is just as bad as saying it's okay behavior
Maybe they change their behavior knowing someone will hassle them for it
Maybe not, but that shit ain't going to slide with me

Case in point.. this shithead kid dropped an N bomb on the sub
Then swung at the sub, and got her ass BEAT!

I feel bad for the girl and I have empathy for her parents (she's fine btw)
But at the same time, don't raise a little shit

I've been driving the is250 since Sat...I dont love it but I can live with it for now.

I had to drive the Alfa tonight...amazing how a bigger SUV actually feels lower to the ground (and the IS is pretty low) lighter, and its definitely WAY faster.

Ha!

Fucking thing threw a CEL and a Check VSC at me this morning and then rough idled while taking the kids to school. Gotta get the codes read when I have a moment. Fun Times.

the WORST is when that happens in a car you fucking hate oir don't care about.

Finacee's Routan with Chrysler drivetrain...every issue I'd fix, 2 others would pop up and I HATED IT.

At least I know the history of this thing. My dad bought it pre-owned but has had it for over 10 years. It had the well known Toyota oil sludge problem, so the engine was basically rebuilt for free. But that was 5-6 years ago. He had a sensor replaced about a month ago...That I need to look at the receipt to see what exactly...but when I get the code read...shoul dit point back to that very issue I cant just run on down to the shop that did the work seeing as its 100 miles away.

Any who...PIA but thats what you get with old cars. So, I'll deal with it.

I'm with you on that, man...
I guess because I felt like I was a prisoner to that thing it annoyed me.
Now that we have the Odyssey I told her I'm easily committed to keeping it intact and on the road.
A platform I at least believe in. And I've had to do axles, battery, alternator and rebuild ps pump in a year.

Let us know what it ends up being.

The tuner I had for my Durango was able to read the codes. P0172, P0175...engine is running too oxygen rich. Checked the MAF sensor but its brand new. Ive been out running errands all day and the car drives fine for the most part...except when I need some oomph...then it starts to buck like a bronco.

Also, who the fuck at Lexus designed the under the hood trim? Its fucking plastic cladding everywhere that covers EVERYTHING. So fucking obnoxious to pop the panels off to get to simple shit.

Typical Lexus owners never see what's under those covers.

Upstream 02 (?)
Bad accelerator position sensor or cam sensor? Freaking out and limp mode when it picks up the voltage from your input?

Dropped it off at the shop this morning so we’ll see.

fucking passenger side window fell off the track dropping my kids off at school. I got it positioned enough to close which was a bitch with the small frame and auto up being so sensitive.

I just started laughing 😂. This vehicle is becoming the antithesis to why I took it.

My Father. And no he did not. He always keeps his cars maintained and up to date. But we both also know this was a midwest snowball car, its 13 years old, and has over 106k on the odo. So while one hopes it remains reliable...it was not a guarantee. But looking around on Club Lexus...looks like most of this is all common. For famed Lexus reliability/longevity I dont know if this particular generation of IS just isn't as good as the others...or 13 years is a pretty decent time of life these days.

Luckily the "problems" are minor and the parts are really cheap.. so not that bad.

My aunt had a 1G IS300 with the 5MT, fun little car.
Knew a guy in Austin that had a turbo IS300, not sure if it was a kit of a Supra swap. IIRC, the IS had a non-turbo 2JZ? Not sure what else differed between the GE & GTE engines.

Yeah, basic stout design but not super overengineered for boost
It'll still handle boost, but the heads and bottom end won't hold up as well as the supra variety
If you're running ~10 lbs of boost, i'm sure it's still really reliable

My parents were Lexus (with a Cadillac SRX to mix it up) for over 20 years. LS400 (car I learned to drive on), ES300, RX300, RX400h, RX350, IS250, NX200....They've now gone Subaru with a new Ascent Touring they picked up 4-5 months ago.

So, I'm fairly well versed in Lexus. And I heard back from the shop...they said it was in fact the MAF sensor. They said their data was giving bad trims, so they ordered a new one Denso one and installed and everything appears to work fine. Guess the one my father had done a month ago was NG. I'm going to mail it back to him along with the receipt so he can it to the shop it was done and see what they say.

Opened up the passenger door and reseated the window. What a bitch. Seems to be working for now. Not sure how long it will stay.
