Unhappy The Saber is sold

Well, I had a guy call me about the TL (Saber) and after he drove it, he was sold.

Here's the new and the old, looking like they are going to fight each other.

I'll be getting some money out of it, but not that much. About $6K for a 1999 with 81K on the speedo (and that's kilometers too). Is it wrong to feel bad? I mean, I really wanted something a lot more sporting, and quicker. Well, I got both. It just seems a little odd to not drive it anymore.

I'll still be coming in here and posting/commenting on things, only because it's a pretty cool collection of people. And maybe Acura/Honda will make a car that I would want to buy (no 2009 TL, just fugly IMO and not sold here).

I don't see anything wrong with it.

Hell, once I'm out of college and start making decent money, even if I have enough to go out and buy another car or trade in my TSX, I'll be sad to let it go. It's my first car. And I love it.

Nothing wrong with being attached to a car, is there?

I felt bad too. Even when I had my junky old Integra (it was reliable as hell though) I felt bad when I posted it on CL and had people test drive it. Didn't help that people lowballed me either. I ended up keeping it for another 4-5 months before actually putting it back up for sale again.

Hell, even my car gets attached to me. For a while I was looking on CL just cause I was bored and curious, no intention to get into another car..... the day after I was looking at Cobras, my car didn't want to start. I kept it cranking for 4 seconds and it didn't fire up. Tried again and it finally started. Every day before and after that, it would start after just 1 sec of cranking.

Just further reinforced my belief that all cars have a soul.... some more than others.

You will be fine soon enough, I'm sure I am going to feel the same after I sell the CL in a few years.

Your island looks very similar to Miami!

You know.... Now that you mention it, after driving the Subaru for a while, the Saber did feel like a floating boat. The Subie has tight steering, and the suspension is like a rock.

The wall to the left of the gates is actually glass blocks. The othe walls are cinder block with those shapes. Yes...Holes.

The temps here are hotter in the summer, and colder in the winter than North Cuba (my mom and brother live in Ft. Lauderdale). No hablo Espanol here....All Okinawan dialect or Japanese (some Engrish, but berry berry badrey spoken)

I don't see anything wrong with it.
There really was nothing wrong with it. The car ran great, but it was 9 years old and time for a change. I tend to keep cars in the 4 to 6 year area and pay cash, so this was a good opportunity for me. Hell, the Subie was $18.8K, and I still have factory warranty. Hell, the previous owner purchased a 3 year service agreement, so I get a year for free. The damn thing brand new is about $36K, so a 50% savings and 2 years old is tough to beat.

One thing that keeps coming up from other people comparing their cars to the Acura/Hondas, is the interior. I explained in another thread I thought the Subaru was pretty good. It's not bad, but there is a little bit of cheapness to be had. Thinner carpet, some dash pieces seem to be made of a lesser grade plastic, etc... No show stoppers, but I get the overall feeling that Honda puts money into their interior. Don't misunderstand, it does not look or feel like "rental car grade" fit or materials, but it could be a bit better on a car that sells north of $30K. IMO.....

I traded in my 01 CL-S a year and a half ago for a Legacy GT. I figured I could use the 4 doors and AWD, but I still miss the CL. It never gave me any real issues, plus now I want one of the new MDX's. So on one hand the Subaru has been great, AWD is awesome in snow and rain, but it would have also been nice to keep the CL and trade it in 2 yrs from now for a nice CPO MDX.

Thats where I live. Haha about North Cuba, my friend calls South Florida "The North Carribean." Sounds like an very nice place to live, and you actually have more than one season.

Can't. Against the law. No tint on the front windows. Rears are fine (and these are factory tinted, and factory rain gutters you can barely see).

And the J-cops can pull you over, and either issue a ticket or impound the car. Now, a Japanese person won't get stopped, but I'm American, so they will pull me over because they feel like it.

I would get one. They are a hoot to drive. And they're pretty light. Mine is a 3.0 Litre Boxer, the H6 motor. Nice linear power delivery.
