I agree. If I did get the s5 though, the 1st thing I'd do is shave those rediculous "v8" badges on the side.

Interior of the s5 is incredible in person, but having seen the int of the m3 in these photo's for the 1st time, I kind of like the more simplistic but sportier int of the m3.

Either way, I'd get the s5 if I wanted to get a car NOW and if I wanted the AWD -- which I still may be nutty enough to go for wanting an all-in-one car. However, having kept the CL as a winter car, the m3 looks much more appealing now in these true-to-form photo's rather than what you see on bmwusa.com

I would need to hump both before deciding.

Unless they use different materials on the interior that car is a ripoff.

The C350 is not worth what Mercedes wants for it. Imagine what the C63 is like ... At least to me ...

i test drove a meteor gray/oxblood red s5 last wednesday. the car is even more stunning in person. the lines actually flow very well, the front fascia with chromed grill is very aggressive, 19 inch rims riding on performance dunlops are sick, and the angel eye daytime running leds are sinister! the red leather interior actually looks quite good in person, the carbon fiber trim around the center console and door panels is the shiznit. unfortunately the glass roof doesn't retract, only shifts up and the rear seats are only good if you're a small child or leprechaun. furthermore, the almost 4000 lb ride was slow off the line but once i shifted to 2nd gear it really picked up. guess the quattro awd weighs the s5 down. still runs 0-60 in 4.8 secs.

mmi works much better than i-drive, nav system is not as good as my rl, bang and olufsen audio system is prolly as good or better than my rl's bose, backup camera is quite nice, and there is an ipod adaptor in the glove compartment (why none in the rl ). what's cools is you can use the mmi to control the ipod and the nav screen shows the ipod display

i'd have to say the s5 interior is as luxurious as they come. audi really knows how to put the hammer down on automotive interior luxury. i agree for 57 K the s5 is not bad a deal, factoring in the 1300 gas guzzler tax and all the goodies. it's no m6 but i would say it gives the m3 a run for the buck (although i haven't driven the m3 yet).

look at how clean the lines are on the M3, by comparison - all the lines work together so well to make a cohesive whole - the S5 looks like it was designed by multiple people with different goals. The M3 looks machined by one team, working together in harmony.

& well said. I like th S5 interior (Except for the bright red seats) Something about it just looks a little more comfortable But I'll still take the M3 which wins overall design

SD Autoshow is creeping up. I'll decide which I like better until then.

i'd take the M3 just because I have a feeling that, like most audis, the S5 will be in the shop a lot

LOL...because you'd be driving the BMW 100% of the time right? I'll take my chances with the Audi. I just saw an S5 on the road, man those LED lights are menacing at night! I saw them approaching me...I was like WTF is that?!?! Sooooo nice in person...I couldn't stop looking at it.
