Doesnt seem overpriced to me. Outstanding v8 with all the luxury touches seem worth the $54k price tag to me.

Lol C63 AMG ftw. But I don't know I would have test drive both cars to figure out which one is better. But right now the S5 looks better than the M3.
thanks for the link. i've been looking for a side to side picture comparison.
i agree that the s5 wins the interior, hands down.
but i keep going back and forth with the exterior.
and i really like the cf roof on the m3. but the same goes to the led headlights.
regardless, i wish i had enough money to be able REALLY choose between the two. it'd be a good problem to have.

yeah - I would take the M3 over the S5, hands down no questions asked. the main beef I have with the S5 is the lines along the side..:

they just dont vibe with me - they make the car look like some car I dont like. i prefer straight swooping lines.. the curves dont look good. it looks more like a "family" type of coupe - rather than a sports car (M3). of course, this is all imo.
I do agree the S5 has a much nicer interior - you may remember my quips about the M3 interior from the past (I said it doesn't "fit" with the visage of the M3).
look at how clean the lines are on the M3, by comparison - all the lines work together so well to make a cohesive whole - the S5 looks like it was designed by multiple people with different goals. The M3 looks machined by one team, working together in harmony.

I suppose I am thinking about it in the wrong sense. Given the cars that are out there, it seems like a premium to me; but I haven't seen or driven one so I am probably wrong.

I didn't like the S5 at first, the exterior looks like it was penned by the same team who styled the now defunct Monte Carlo. But I admit it's growing on me.
Interior hands down goes to the Audi.
Driving dynamics of course goes to the M3 (or so I've read).
Tough choice.

. The M3 does look good in that arrest-me red as well.

-ing in circles because I really can't choose!
