Lol, my parents were already nice enough to buy me a TSX. Whenever it is I decide to get a new car, it's gonna be on my shoulders.

I'm not complaining...I'm very thankful for my TSX, just saying.

I test drove both. S5 is definitely more unique. Is your mother comfortable driving manual? I believe that's the only transmission available for the s5. 650 has that crappy smg transmission in most models, manuals are fewer and far between. Even though the 08 650 had a slight facelift (angeleye leds, improved rear fascia), it's still a 5 year old design whilst the s5 has been out for less than 1 year. I'd advise her to test drive both and see what she likes better. IMO, the s5 interior is the shiznit! Space gray exterior, magma red interior, carbon fiber trim, and bangin B&O sounds.

650 interior was much more spartan.

Both cars are pretty heavy though. Good luck with her decisions, that would be cool to see a MILF pulling up to the stop light in either of those vehicles (NO offense to your mom).

Because no middle aged women drive 6 series BMW's right? Most people that buy sports cars are non enthusiasts. They buy them because they have the money and nothing else.

S5.

She can do it, and she doesn't mind. She just hates it (understandably like most individuals) when she has to drive stick in bumper to bumper traffic.

Lol, and none (offense) taken

No doubt. Driving the c2s in traffic sucks ass. At least the porsche doesn't lug too much in 1st gear. I usually give the car in front of me ample space so I can keep my foot on the accelerator as the clutch is pretty heavy. Once in awhile some asshat cuts me off though lol. The s5 clutch is a lot lighter.

S5 FTW!

Oh and pics of your mom (j.k. )

S5 because:
1. Looks
2. Rarity
3. Ease of driving. Sure, you live in Texas so snow isn't a big issue, but in rain the S will be a lot easier to deal with
4. Interior. Nobody can touch Audi on the interiors.

how many S5's are they selling here in the US?

it's rare now because it's brand new. but will it become common like the M3?

Depends on how well they hold their value but I think they'll be a bit more rare than the M3 since most people buy the M3 just for the BMW badge...doesn't seem like Audi has the same image or attracts the same buyers

My dad no doubt would drive it to, just not as much as her. I'll put in into perspective. She got a new CTS about 4 years ago. She loves it. Both my parents drive it, but my dad calls it 'hers' and shes the primary driver of the car. Not that he doesn't enjoy driving a nice sports car, but he honestly wouldn't want to drive a nice car to work (he's a pilot) and park there for two or three days to come back and find dents or scratches that he will have no chance of finding the guilty party.

Basically he doesn't mind driving his truck. My mom is the one who really enjoys having the extra power and nice car, so no, my dad does not drive a ferrari or anything like that.

Oh in my comparison before, I was trying to differenciate (sp?) between the 6 series and the S5, not the M3 and the 6 series.
So basically he is whipped?
