RSX Type-S; Good Buy?

My friend is getting a car very soon and he's seriously considering an RSX Type-S. I know there's a couple RSXs on this forum so please respond if you have time, anyone else as well. Is the RSX a wise buy? The other cars he's checkin out are a 99 BMW 3 series and a new Tiburon V6 (jmho). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

I can say after having mine for about 5 months that it is the most solidly built Acura that I have owned (had two Integra GS-R's and a CL-S). It is well balanced for a FWD and handling in the RSX-S is a blast. The pickup is fun, although not strong like the CLS cause of the peaking HP feel vs. torque.

The interior is very Honda ... smart and well organized with a very cool red glow at night for the dials which is very sporty looking.

Highly recommend the RSX ... nice on the wallet on gas too (I can get 30-32 MPG if I drive nice ).

I have driven the type S many times, and i even almost bought it when it first came out. The car is pretty sweet, my only complaint was lack of room and the cheap ass leather, just feels like hard plastic, other than that its a blast to drive just like my GTS. I think the new Tiburons are bad ass to, just sucks about the resale value, but you can get it fully loaded for 18k

If your friend is going to keep his car for a while, then I'd look at the Tiburon personally.

If he's gonna keep it 2-3 years and then trade up, I'd go with the RSX-S.

I've been thinking of getting an RSX-S, but the wife hates the idea of a manual. I keep thinking it would be nice to have the RSX every time we drive to NYC and have to pass up a parking spot to small for the CL.

whatever ur friend does make sure he doesnt buy the hyundai tiberon. im sorry but korea just doesnt put out good cars. hyundai pales in comparison to honda cuz, well, they suck. thats why hyundais are so inexpensive. if u read some review on the v6 tiberon u'll find that its so-called v6 power is very minimal and on the low end of the spectrum. i recommend the rsx, haven't met anyone who complained of owning one yet!

Definately have your friend buy the RSX. I have a base model that is fun to drive, but has no power but the handling is awesome. The RSX-S takes care of the power issue. All in all, it is a better car than the tiburon. The BMW would be nice, but think of the repair bills.....
