RSX being Discontinued?
Was just at my Acura service dealer today and overheard one of the tech guys talking about how the RSX is going to be discontinued....
Anybody hear anything similar?

Rooting for Acura

Service guys don't know jack but I wouldn't be surprised just because the Si is probably outselling it by healthy margins. Plus it would leave room in the line-up for the rumored mid-sized coupe.
I remember one of the techs at the dealership I go to say that the new RL was going to hit the showroom with 20" wheels. They should have but no dice.

Isn't the RSX a big seller for Acura?
I think with the next gen they should kill off the RSX name and bring back the Integra name.

They need to bring back the Type R model. yes they have a Type S model. but the Integra Type R kind of kicked off the import sport scene. The Type S is a little more powerful vs a stock type R however I think a Type R cooler.

If they continue the car itself, rebadge it the Honda Integra and it HAS to be significantly better than the Civic Si otherwise it'll just be redundant.

There is no need for the current car as it stands with the new si, they are the same idea even though i think the rsxs is just a better car alround. A new rsx, larger etc could very well be in the plans etc. Would be nice in the meantime if their was also a 160hp civic coupe to replace the base rsx.

Yep, the RSX is dead. Its been out for like 5 years now. Its time for the RSX and the S2000 to lay down. But i'm not anxious to see either of them go if Acura/Honda doesnt have a replacement planned.

The RSX is being relieved of its duties mainly because Honda has seen what happened to Toyota when they introduced the Scion tC. It killed the Celica. Honda figures that the Si model has been around for 20 years and deserves the slot in that market over the RSX (which is out of place in the Acura lineup).
They had mentioned an XGA coupe as the S2K's replacement...

The XGA is codenamed for the V8 NSX option, whereas the NSX will take the V10 engine varient. Same car, two different names. One is supposed to be a front engined, RWD, while the NSX is still both in the testing. It wasn't an april fools joke. The XGA replacing the S2K was the april fools joke.
I say bring the CL back, using a new body frame...And i'd like to see the RSX under Honda as the Integra...to bad it won't happen though.

acura should build a mid size coupe and offer some more bite in their A-Spec package... those concept A-Specs they keep showing are amazing... they need to build a real A-Spec with brembo brakes, agressive exteriors and more power...

Yet they are amazingly successful with the TSX, TL, and MDX. It's not like Acura is hurting for sales revenue.

they should make the rsx a honda and make it into a prelude or something of similarity. i think the prelude was awesome even with the civic si being available at that time.
the civic si should be the cheaper one in the low 20k's and a more powerful, better handing integra type-r/prelude sh type thing going again.
bring the next gen s2k up as an acura. that way the upscale brand will have a worthy sports car in the lineup thats affordable and people who really can put down the money go for the next nsx.

I heard this rumor over a year ago from the Service Manager at my dealership.

RSX no more
Having owned a '02 RSX-S before my '05 TL I'm sad to find out as I read the Sunday paper that Acura is dropping it next year, oh well is hard to compete with a similar car the '06 Si.......

Vtec.net has listed a possible replacement...
http://vtec.net/modelmatrix/
But I agree, the Civic SI looks like a better choice then the RSX... But there maybe some room for both to co-exist. The Civic SI Sedan would probably be cross-shopped w/ the TSX, but I don't think that either or them will go away anytime soon...
