RSX Automatic tranny

Is the 5spd auto tranny in the RSX supposed to be:

1) the same as in the CL?
2) based on the one in the CL?
3) totally different?

I took my car in for service and got an automatic RSX as a loaner today. This transmission is MUCH smoother than ours. WOT upshifts are, as Linda Richman would say, like butta! The SportShift rocks with total control of 1st and the ability to start out in 2nd gear. Although, why you'd want to start out in 2nd gear with 141 lb-ft of torque is beyond me!

Now, some of the extra smoothness could be due to the fact that this car has 117 miles on it, and mine has 28,900. But still... I do believe the tranny is quite a bit smoother. Makes me wonder if there's any relation between the two. And the tranny in my CL has been BULLET-PROOF (knocks on wood).

i don't htink they are. i think the rsx motor is mounted differently.

it probably shifts smoother because there's so much less torque.

besides, my tranny doesn't hsift rough, it's like butta too!
