it's pretty impressive how solid they feel and logically they are put together. So far, aside from regular maintenance and the pulley
install I have done the DSG service myself which was somewhat daunting...the A3 I found to be pretty easy to work on too.

it got fixed
2.) It's not about how difficult they are to repair, it's that you have to do it rather often.

Decided to run a new paddleboard I bought up to Ft Lauderdale for repair so I took the
newly refreshed golden chariot...
Got some new Bilstein B8 installed on her and couldn't help but grab the old angle grinder to get the stance
just right.
Sitting pretty nice now, if I may say.

Board is a sore subject as I wasn't fully versed and didn't fully inspect it upon purchase...I thought, wow...carbon fiber, decent price
in good condition and went for it. The ONE panel on the damn thing that I didn't tap on was the left side of the board resting on my feet
and it turns out it was de-laminated from the foam core. No wonder the damned thing was so much heavier than her fiberglass board!
Fucking asshole seller is claiming I must have damaged myself. I guess in the scheme of things and all the cars I end up buying from
people trusting my gut and taking chances...this was a cheap lesson in not trusting people and thoroughly inspecting shit before handing
over any money. Took it to a fiber repair shop that specializes in boards and it's gonna be about what I paid for the board to fix it. For some
reason spending double the money to have something I can actually use feels worth it vs getting shafted and stuck with having spent money
with nothing to show for it. It's his karma...he's lucky I'm not younger and with less to lose or a cop or I'd show up on his doorstep and get
my shit back. In these tough times, who even knows...maybe he needed the cash more than me. I'll keep it moving.
If anyone is interested here she was getting fuckin butchered
If it's good enough for the Caddy it was fine for the Audi. I had a safety net too...
for some reason shocks alone were $650 but they sell the shocks WITH the eibach springs for $700...
so I could have bought that set and put uncut springs back in and returned the new shocks if need be.
I cut what I figured would be around a quarter inch off the height. To add insult to injury, in my haste...
I cut 5" off the bottom of one and 5" off the top of the other...but luckily...the springs are identical top and
bottom...same spring shape and spacing and taper...so it doesn't matter what way they go in. WHEW.
3 of the 4 shocks/struts had NO rebound at all...nothing. No wonder it was so brutal over bumps...
Not bad for a heavy ass 19" with big PSS tire...
lighter than stock IIRC
So...the new stance and dampening brought new appreciation for the car. I know I'm always belly achin about wanting a manual but
for 3 days straight I drove this thing this week and used manual mode the entire time to shift as if it were manual and I can say that the
quick shifts and full control you have with it is very engaging and satisfying if I stop being a little ho about it. Suspension is overdampened
like Germans do...but it's not harsh anymore...rides so well and makes me realize how badly it was handling before when under load
or taking turns. Money well spent, for sure.

Thanks Aman...
yeah, the more I deal the happier I am buying Florida only cars...
Jeep/Burban/Motorcycle/S2000 and Audi are all Florida only cars...
Acura saw snow but nothing more than surface rust that wasn't impacted after 2016.

LOL...it was years ago.
but it went so well I knew it would be a viable option.
Actually...first time was on my 97 Accord back in the day...
using 4 fucking tiny dremel cutting discs per spring to get
it sitting right.
Betty's old accord I cut springs on back...Caddy out front...
Audi out front. I don't ask the manager for permission.
I takes the money, Lebowski.

ideally you only cut a dead coil that's basically used as a spacer...so you don't affect spring rate...
cut it fast too so you don't heat it up too much.
In the case of the Audi I took just enough off of the tip to hopefully not affect the rebound ability.

Not much to report here except Audi is doing great...
got the rear diffuser thrown on there and it looks awesome.
Getting ready to walnut blast the intake valves in the next few
weeks.

well, I did 4.5k launch control for a friend so she SHOULD have expected it.
she said it feels like a rollercoaster.
Fucking right on, babe...COOL, RIGHT?!?!?!!

Is that the ECS Tuning diffuser? Looks great regardless!
Fitment and stance looks perfect! I'm rationalizing at this point but a mild stretch really looks good, especially when it flows with the curve of the fenders/quarters.

Yes sir, the ECS diffuser...I bought it while it was on sale and had to wait a couple months for it.
I was on the fence about it but with the RS grill and front lip I felt like I needed to complete the look.
It's stock sized Michelin PSS and I was a bit surprised it was stretched...could have likely gone with
265 instead. I have good grip though...
Actually...hold my beer...check out this launch a buddy recorded.

Michelins run wide. When I switched from Continentals to Michelins, I had to get smaller spacers and still rubbed.
