I like the mildew all over the Yukon.

You should clear coat it in and then call it the Yuckon.

bang bang...
new pitman and idler arm on the Yukon, first time doing that job...hopefully the last for a while.
got some tie rod ends, plug wires and rotor/cap on the way...I need shocks but first want to decide what to do about height...
I'm either staying where it's at, or 2" lift with a key and leaf spacer
If so I MIGHT be able to use the 34's I picked up cheap...they're mounted on some Baja AR wheels that I actually really like the look of.
I mainly bought it for the wheels alone but couldn't help but throw them on just to see. If steering and turning weren't a thing I could leave
them on and I'm not about to hammer and grind bumpers to make a temp set of tires fit.

Storing them is a problem too so I might have the tires pulled and sold for cheap...we will see.
Gas mileage is already abysmal so I can only imagine with those tractor tires on there...32.5" would actually have been perfect...
depending on how things go after we clean it up more...I'll decide if I have the Yoks swapped over to the Baja...they are SUPER nice
and old school looking. Also ordered a Pioneer radio for it...same one I put in the Mercedes...gotta have my tunes.

Yukon project is going well.
What started as a leaking compressor quickly turned into a total revamp of the A/C system. Dryer fitting was seized from evaporator core...so I replaced it all.
Including the condenser. All o-rings, fresh oil and new components...first trip out with the lady after doing that and she couldn't tolerate the air on anything lower
than the lowest fan speed. Yay...

Up next...spider conversion to multi port fuel injection...should rid me of all misfires, stumbles and piss shit poor gas mileage

Last week we stripped the roof down to bare metal and epoxy primered though...paint is in and imminent...I think I'm going to pull glass to do it right.

Poor every other car in that warehouse... covered in cancerdust.

Is sanding it like that better/easier than using some sort of chem remover? Like airplane stripper

he cut out ALL my jokes. I was like, Brian...is this why my Mom said not to trust strippers?
Anyway, yeah...he said the EPA got involved with that old airplane stripper and removed the elements that made it super potent.
He said even if we used that it would take forever and NOT take it down to metal without sanding anyway. 3 of us going at it took
about 3 hours to do...Gotta sand and body work it a little in some spots...we made some high spots with heat because the rust cracks
were INTO the metal. We were gonna just bedline it but that wouldn't have been the right way...plus that just traps the rust under.

@00TL-P3.2 yeah in 1996 they were still using the first rendition of the carb to fuel injection technology...it wasn't until 2002 that
they went to the more solid design. I opted to order the straight up conversion to traditional injectors for $300...not a lot more and should
be more efficient. If I can get 300 miles to a tank and have it not sputter and stutter and idle funny, I'll be happy. I'm in it for the long haul
on this one.

I also liked him saying "gotta wear a respirator and you want to cover up" as he's wearing the Tyvek suit. And then cut scene to DeerMeat in his little bootie shorts.

Like Goofus and Gallant.

@SamDoe1
I know that feel bro...

this thing is solid...even a 4l60 trans is only like a grand rebuilt...engine doesn't leak anything...fired up after sitting for 8 years with just some brakekleen and a jump pack.

@cu2wagon other dude helping is my Cuzzo, Niko...he's the one that got the blue cu2wagon...him and Brian are smaller than me and Brian's only other suit was medium so he got it.
I was down to clown so I didn't give a fuck and with him not letting me talk on his video I knew I was there for sex appeal so out came the shorts. Seriously though...when I shut the fuck
up the videos do well...when I cut up and fuck around they tank so I've shut up in hopes of him getting views. Shout out to Eastwood for fully sponsoring this series too...materials, paint...
all of it.

It's an old GM, they are shockingly unkillable and easy/cheap to keep running for the rest of time. If you can keep the rust at bay it may live longer than you.

Bonus points for LT4 swap.

Sheet. I love me an old GM truck. My uncle had a 94 1500 that ran like new until it was stolen and flipped into a ditch a few years back.

I still regret not biting on that 04 Yukon you sold two years ago, Jeremy.

I noticed that... The one scene where he was prepping the gun or the paint or something and you came walking up and just stood there... I was like, "he's the video bimbo!!!".

Get in where you fit in.

Yeah, my uncle sold it to his father in law, who's grandson was driving it. It was taken on a joy ride by one of his drunk friends.

And next time New Orleans gets wiped out they're just gonna go to Houston, so......

Damn. Ol boy doesn't let you talk much anymore. Just does the gratuitous up-skirt up-shorts camera shots.

Did you know about the previous body work? I'd have had an awfuck moment when the Bondo started to show through when sanding.

his viewers think I'm annoying...so I don't talk.
I didn't know entirely...my hs buddy who's father owned the truck from 2000 to now said he didn't think the truck ever had paint work.
Um...yeah, it did...a ton of it...but that's all good...paid $160 for PDR to lessen how much filler and sanding we will need for a straight
truck to paint...spent like 5 hours filling and block sanding the lower portion to smooth it out and eliminate the need for the side moldings.
Paying a guy to pull windshield and rear quarter glass to make for a LEGIT nice paintjob.

Neighbor's son used to have a blue brodozer'ed JKU Sport. Lifted on 33s with lots of blue lighting around it.
Had some blue LEDs in the headlight housings & he got stopped for it. Being 17 got him out of a ticket with the "oh, I didn't know that" excuse.

He's got a new F150 STX & doesn't miss the JKU. His girlfriend has a stock JLUR & he said it's still better to drive his truck.

loving it, actually.
TL project is still underway, not sure if I'll go deeper into it or move it on to a new home
Merc wagon gave me a little work last week, starter and k40 module...the more reliable I make the damn thing...the less I'm willing to consider giving it up.
Yukon is painted...came out great...just a few odds and ends to tie up on it...

got another one while I was at it...
haven't been this enamored in quite some time...
