rockstar143 wanted to GM again - 2015 'Burban LTZ
Well, this is a lot of vehicle wheeler dealering, even for me.
At the end of the day I feel like this is a hobby...get in, get a decent deal, get back out when you've had your fill.
If I make some on some deals and lose some on others...as long as the overall net is breaking even I appreciate
a hobby that doesn't cost me anything but time. The hunt for a deal, what I want to buy...making it happen...cleaning
it up. I love that and in the end having experience tinkering and cleaning up different brands is something I see value in.
Anyway...on our annual trip to Tennessee we took the Odyssey since it's now our only vehicle we all fit in. 26mpg up and 23
back down...not too bad. Once we got up there and were following J's Dad's 2015 Escalade though we did start lamenting on
how much we missed having a 4WD for the trip up. We took the Yukon in the summer of '18...there were areas I would have
liked to off-road a bit and just sitting up higher in a stout GM product...I missed it.
Well, little J ends up bringing up that the Jeep has been fun but that we really don't use it much...and that she might be ready
to give up the van for the right thing. HOLD MY BEER SAY NO MORE FAM!
We get back in town Thursday and by Sunday I've done a little searching...
I find this 2015 'Burban LTZ fully decked out...no pics up yet at the little Broker's shop in Pompano but what I notice is he has a
free carfax and has listed the ACTUAL color...not just brown...Brownstone Metallic with Cocoa interior. 4WD top of the line with 112K
miles. On a LS/Vortec 5.3....shit...that ain't even broken in yet. Rated at 17mpg city and 23 highway...so far I've confirmed near that...
not bad for a rolling living room.
I send it to myself at work in case I'm near there Monday. As fate would have it, I was up there Monday and I dropped in. Wow...in person
the damn thing could have been listed as a 2019 with no miles and I would have believed you. No paint work clean carfax 2 owner truck
with the most recent being Punta Gorda, FL...No rust, perfect new looking engine bay...silent engine when running...interior was pristine.
Broker is a laid back very nice guy that is very cut and dry...I knew I was in trouble. I told J to come take a look with the kids...they gave
their stamp of approval and I gave a deposit. I mentioned that I'd need to get rid of the Jeep and Odyssey and we chatted about what we
thought they might be worth. He agreed to sell them for me on consignment through his place.

the 15's got a HELL of an interior upgrade with stitched leather panels...loving the cocoa interior.

next day I hauled ass home to depersonalize the van and clean up the jeep and we followed each other to Pompano...
Deal was done in under 30 minutes...I've never had an easier transaction...
The ladies approved for sure
Drove J to work Wednesday...then took it to work for myself...got lots of compliments on it

First order of business is I HATE the gold bowtie
Front plate is riveted to the black part of the bumper...I took care of that shit too
So Thursday rolls around and J takes it to work...first text to me is about the gas mileage...then a call about how big it is
to park. I'm like...babe...we are giving up a perfectly maintained 100k J series Odyssey here...I'm taking a loss on
what I've put into it in the last year...if you are having second thoughts I will not be mad at you NOW...but if you wait
until it's sold and then tell me this I will be PISSED. So she said okay...get the van back.
I immediately felt relief...I hadn't really thought about the fact that this now expensive piece of the automotive fleet would
not be a sellable piece if it was her ONLY vehicle. And I was also eating shit on a few grand put into the Ody. So with that
I went and picked it back up and told her she has her van back now. Now I'm not sure what I'll do...but I do love having
a big GM SUV again. We'll see. Like I said, this was a LOT...even for me.

fleet and not ma duke's main whip...I would have opted for an
older one I bought cash that I wouldn't have to feel pressure
about what else to sell.

would have been my first choice.

Why not put a decal on the side that says "The Burb of Broward County" and sit at your local park or playground and do dumb rockstar things like park in the grass and take pictures of ramdom things while barefoot... Just a suggestion...
