RL or GS

My friend is looking to buy a nice luxury car for under 10G. These are two cars he will possibly be looking at. What car would you guys choose and why?

I would pick the GS, just for the fact it looks more younger and teh RL

Yeah and the year is 2001

for 10g budget i wouldnt attempt to get a beat up luxo. but thats me.

btwn the two you mentioned, GS has better reliability, which should be the most important factor considering.

I kinda like boxy luxury cars, the boxy profile just seems more classy to me.

I would vote RL in looks.

But objectively, i'd say GS. Better performance and luxury for the price.

I vote GS in just about every category. The 1G RL (or 3G Legend to some) does less for me than the 2G....which at least handles well and is fairly high tech.

Even now in 2009, the 2G GS still has considerable bling.

^may I ask why you are sick trying to mod it?

parts too expensive?

Well GS was my vote too....
crazy, I thought I would get biased votes because it is an Acura based forum.

I suggested he looked at the 1G RL. Even though I would choose the GS. The 1G RL modded will be once in a life time thing you can see.

That is the only + over the GS
OneBadNSX....if you get your RL modded like this..

I like the GS way more, always have. The RL looks nice with a drop and some wheels. My mom initially wanted a 1G RL, but I convinced her to get a 2G TL-S instead

parts are really expensive, and RARE to come by.... there's next to no aftermarket support for us. To top it off, really expensive prices because of shipping from Japan..

Blazing GT i actually don't like that kit at all. A simple lip kit looks better IMO.

This was my initial plan. But the kit looks really fat in person.

This kit looks pretty good molded too.

If youre friend likes to mod then the GS is the car for him, there is TONS of mods for the GS compared to the RL. Like said previously, I got rid of my Acura because I got tired of trying to mod it, where the GS has a mod for every nut and bolt on the car.

While most of us are Honda/Acura fans, we will keep it real as possible. That generation Acura Legend was considered major step away from the MUCH loved 2G Legend it replaced. Though a solid car in most respects, many of us were disappointed with it....and unfortunately, it carried over to the 2G RL.

the RL looks like a 91 legend (18 yrs old). GS. has he considered the s class or 7 series? those were great in the mid 90s.

as much as i like the RL, i'd definitly take the GS in a heartbeat over it. or even a ls 430 if he wants to spend a little more on even nicer car.

not sure if this was asked yet... but is the GS the 300 or 430??? don't think you will find a good condition 430 in that budget... it will be high mileage...

Find an IS300 MT and then throw a turbo on it.

if he wants different though, i would go 1G RL and drop it like its hot like the earlier pics... i think hooked up GS are more common...

nonetheless - both will cost an arm and leg to mod...
