If I were that Enzo driver, my first immediate impression would be whether or not the three cars harassing me are intent on carjacking my Enzo.

 

I would of just taken off and not let them catch up/ that road seemed pretty empty.

 

That happens every once in a while when I am in the Viper and I cannot stand it. I had some punk kid in a Z28 almost sideswipe me because he was trying to get me to race-when I wouldn't go, he veared hard into my lane, pushing me to the shoulder. That gave me the insentive to get the F out of there.

 

That's funny about the Z28, i have a Trans Am, and every F body owner my way thinks they can kill a viper/ferrari or even me because they have a lid and a muffler. Little do they know about the AFR Heads and 232/238 Cam(Changing both for more power) i have.

 

thats what i thought while watching this. a bunch of ricers sound like giddy little girls giggling everytime they got close to the enzo and thought they were beating it because they passed it.

exotics definitely require some caution in these respects. I mean, you WILL attract attention, like it or not. Real life story: a Gallardo owner I know had beer bottles thrown AT HIS CAR late at night, in the Chicago suburbs... they hit the hood and I believe did do damage. But what do you do, stop the car and get out yelling?? The best move is to continue on your merry way. You have to be ready for anything when you're driving cars like that. Also someone I know who used to have an NSX was driving in the city and had his car surrounded by 4 cars at a light - when the light turned green, the cars didn't move. He thought they were gonna jump him and take his car or something. Turned out they didn't, Lord only knows what they were doing - they drove off. But you are definitely increasing potential risks when you choose to drive a car like that. It's kind of sad but what can you do...

If I seen an Enzo I certainly wouldn't try to get it to race me... shit is worth like 20 times my car. Even if I could beat it, who wants the bragging rights to beating a supercar in a polished turd.

I dont own a super car, but i was on the highway ehrn these ricers started up, and around here all the ricers pick on the amrican v8's. I dont know how many there were, but 2 of them pulled up side by side with me and started revving and taking off and slowing down. I didnt bite and i guessed it pissed them off. Next thing you know, one starts riding my ass very close while the other 2 start coming close to me on both sides. All of them were way to close of comfort, so i nailed the gas, changed lanes and gunned it hard. They couldnt catch me. I was a little scared that one of these idiot kids was going to fuck up and cause a wreck, so i took off. Plus i had my pregnant wife with me and had no choice but to wait for something to happen, or take off.

 

either your Supra was stock or the C55 was modded... or both.

a stock Supra is about even with a stock C55... with a slight edge going towards the C55... but both trap about the same in the 1/4 - ~107 mph.

 

I really really don't understand that ricer mentality.

Just about the same thing happened with me and a local ricer on the 78 freeway down here in San Diego. There wasn't traffic, but I wouldn't say the freeway was empty @ all. I could seriously drive no faster than 65-70 unless I weaved around cars and such.

Anyways, a ricer in a nasty ass old hatchback (before the EG or whatever) keeps trying to egg me on to racing. Same thing; different story (revving up high, slowing down, speeding up, cutting me off to get in front of me, then suddenly getting on my ass). When he got to my side, I just looked at him and shook my head.

I would imagine these ricers call themselves car enthusiasts too. Why would they put themselves and their vehicles (which I'm sure they adore even if they're shitty) @ risk just to pretend to race ?

 

The Supra is an odd car. It's not an exotic and it's not a Civic. I would sometimes get exotics trying to race ME. I mean, I was at a light with a Lotus Esprit S4 - it was just us 2 cars. SHE took off when the light turned green.. I mean - totally. I "lost" because I didn't want to instigate. Then I felt like an idiot because I SHOULD have raced her - it would have been close but I woulda beat her. And I like NEVER got another chance like that. And she was hot too. But I digress.

Anyway.

I would get that on the highway sometimes too. Sometimes I would race but most of the time I wouldn't. If I saw a Ferrari or Lamborghini, I wouldn't make an EFFORT to get next to them - I mean, that is pretty lame. I think this has to do with maturity level too though. I mean, I would like to think I'm a little more mature than the kids in this video. And yeah it was kind of disappointing to see the Supra running with the others in this vid...

So in regard to racing an exotic in a Supra - you're kind of "damned if you do and damned if you don't"...

It's a precarious position to be in, really.

 

The video sounds like it was done by a couple of school girls. Lots of giggling, squealing and laughing. I would be a little freaked out if I were the driver of the Enzo. Looked like they were trying to box him and to get a better shot.
I don't mind if people want to take a picture of my car while parked or driving down the road, it happens all the time. However, I do expect them to drive like a sane person whenever they are around me. Last thing I want is them losing control of their car and running me off the road or something.

 

I don't see any ricers in the video, save for the camera vehicle because I can't tell what it is or what's done to it except for the AFC unit.
