This is a similar layout to the same event held a couple years ago with Mazda. Chevy is sponsoring this year.

When I went in the past, it was fun to really rip on someone elses car for the day. Plus, the classroom courses are a good refresher or introduction for those who have never done much racing before.

First event starts at the end of the month.

No vette driving, only Cobolt's it seems. You can pay $10 to ride in a Z06 in a hot lap with a pro

It says you can drive the vette. You just don't race them.

Au contraire...the regular 'vette is available in the skills course tracks that are part of the regular event and can be driven for no fee. It's only the Z06 that has a fee and must be driven by one of the pros (and understandably so since I'm sure some dumbass would go out of his way to try to crash one).

Aaahhhhh. just got back form this in Dallas. It was a BLAST! I drove the C6 Vette hard around a small course 5 times, the Impala SS a couple of times and the Cobalt SS a few times. I also did the $10 hot lap in the Z06 which was unbelievable! Well worth the price of admission if it's coming to your town!

Dammit, I'm in Miami that weekend! (normally, that's a great thing!) I never miss car events like this if I can help it.

I just did an Audi event a couple of months ago where I got to ride in an RS4 around the track with a pro and rag on the other Audi products. That car is SWWWWEEET.

I've done the Mazda one with the 626s (that was fun, because there were timed laps and an overall winner).

The GM one comes around every couple of years, and the highlight there was you got to drive a Vette on the track, and a Hummer (slowly) over dirt humps. You also get to drive all the other GM products (snore) and their competitors.

I've done numerous BMW ones, but they don't seem to do those anymore. Those were definitely fun. Look out for "Drive for the Cure". They still do those.

The BEST one I did was a Mercedes Benz one. They had a pro drive you around in a C32. By FAR, the most thrilling ride I've been on!
