Is it really supposed to pull to the right?

I was test driving a car yesterday and trying to check the alignment by setting the car straight and letting it drift on its own. The car was pulling to the right. Not by much, but enough to have to keep a steady correction to the left in order to go straight.

I mention to the salesman with me, "It kind of pulls to the right." His response is, "It's supposed to pull to the right. That way if you fall asleep, it will pull you away from oncoming traffic."

My car pulls a little to the right but less than that car did, and I find it very annoying, to the point of where I will get an alignment soon. I was under the impression that cars should drive straight when set on a straight course with good tires and a level surface.

Am I mistaken, or his he full of BS?

Side story: This was at Honda of San Marcos. He didn't seem too thrilled when he mentioned Ian (also my name) and I asked if that's the guy who sold a black GT-R a few months ago. He called it, "A debacle."

Lol, the things salesmen say... No it's not supposed to do that.

You gotta make sure your on a flat road too and not on the far right lane where it'll naturally pull to the right.

I wouldn't be surprised if it pulled to the right a little. Roads are paved crowned so that water rolls off the sides of the road.

Nevertheless, the salesman is wrong. If your concerned, just make sure your alignment is within spec.

I get the road thing and would have fully accepted that explanation at that time, but falling asleep at the wheel is just stupid. Yes, the car will pull you off the road, so instead of hitting someone else and killing them, you will only hit a tree and kill yourself.

I checked it in the center and left lane too. Still pulled to the right.
