Reaching the limit
I can not for the life of me make a decision whether to move on to a new car... or not.
I love my 2G TSX. However, it has become somewhat boring. Still drives great and I love the feel and look so no problems there. But I'm pushing 50k miles on a 2010, it gets the gas mileage of much higher hp cars and has the performance of a slow 2.4L auto even with mods. Today, I clocked in at 19.8mpg with a mix of mildly aggressive driving and easy-going driving. I used to get 26mpg at WOT all around town. Might as well drive something that can perform, right?!
So with that are two vehicles. First, one I've been pining over for several years now, a 370Z with sport package and possibly with the 7AT. Reason being, I hate the manual on the 370. And the 7AT has proven to be just as good if not just slightly better than the manual in both speed and mpg. It also has 330 ponies and easily modded in the future.
Second choice is the most recent thought. A BMW 135i or 135M-Sport. Or even a 335i or M3. Only 2011 or 2012 models. I don't care for the new style. But they are german cars and they never had great reliability, but they are easily modded into the 400+ range with very little money, still a four seater and still has class.
I'm 32 now as of last week. Single. No kids. No real bills to speak of other than the usual. Looking to have some fun again but can't decide on whether or not I can give up on the classy-side. What would you get and why? Not looking for a debate over which car is better. They all have pros and cons. Just looking for personal opinions about why you would pick one over the other. Remember, I have no kids so try to filter out to the memories when you were single and had cash to burn. Thanks!

Driving a 135i (or even a 128i sport) makes you [almost] forget how it looks. Not a sexy car.
I had a 2013 128i a few days and its N52 was feeling like a 2006 330i/325i before they weakened too much the exhaust. Its sound was agressive enough. If my 2007 sounded as nice, I would have a performance exhaust installed. Of course the 135i, is the same, only better.
The upcoming 2-series should be interesting.
The 370Z is a rare Nissan that I like. Two seats wouldn't work for me.

This^Agreed, not a sexy car. I thought that it looked a little smooshed too. It's strickly a drivers car. If OP were looking for sexy, I'd have recommended an S6 or XF. That's not what he aksed. -And- They might make you feel like "The Transporter," but the little M is faster.
Thanks for the comments and feedback guys. And yes, while appearance is certainly a consideration, when I took a look at the 135 I HAD to forget about the way it looked. Unfortunately I have yet to drive one but it is on the list because it is exactly as stated, "a driver's car". I don't exactly like the look of the 370 either. But I've driven two, one base and one sport package, both in 6mt. And both times I was pissed off. But I think I've been sold on the auto configuration. I love paddle shifters since I can keep both hands on the wheel. Kind of necessary when you constantly hit every corner hard.
So based on the opinions here I need to get my ass behind the wheel of a 135. Awesome. Thanks so much for the input! Really appreciated.

370z gets pretty poor gas mileage as well if thats what you are after.
If you love the TSX but its getting boring to you, then maybe try taking it to a track day and really push its limits. Might fall in love with it all over again.
Otherwise M3 gets my vote, its pretty reliable but maintenance can be pricey. Still have mine and having a blast with it. Check out the CTS-V as well. You wont save on gas mileage thats for sure.
If i had no kids then I would also look at a used Cayman S

I usually agree with Crazy Acura but I do not think a CTS-V is for you if you are already concerned with mileage on your TSX. Everything else the Crazy one says is correct. I would add a used Cayman S to your list, and definitely take the TSX to an autocross.
Car that is FWD, electric steering, heavy body, underwhelming engine, with an auto tranny at that, come on bro you knew what you were getting into when you bought the TSX. You can't have possibly expected it to be fun as a 1 series or Mx5, or think jeez what dilemma I would be in once I grow bored of this car..Maybe you bought it for the reliability (more bang for the buck) like I did, but it sucks you already spent money, when you could have gone with a different car like a BMW 3 series or G37 from the beginning
Anyways the suggestions above are all pretty good, if I were you, I'd go test drive a used Cayman, great handling, pretty reliable and good mpg.

You are all correct to a multitude of points and I agree with just about every statement, including the reason behind the purchase of the TSX. I did buy it for reliability. I wasn't thinking about anything else. But within two months I started to mod it. Then I just went into denial about why I was still holding on to it. By the way, I did take a closer look at the 135i and decided it wasn't the car for me. Something about ditching the Japanese and all the great things they have done was a little unsettling.
But anywho... I digress. No need to continue with suggestions as I am now the proud owner of a gunmetal 370Z Touring. I'll have a Quaife LSD going on order in about a week along with a Stillen CAI and then it'll be balls to the wall. For real this time.
So yeah. Total beast mode.
Crazy thing is that it has pretty much the same basic creature comforts as the tsx. And I find it very comfortable and much more supportive seating.
So again... Thanks to all that took the time to post and voice opinions. It was greatly appreciated and I certainly gave it all consideration when I decided to go through with this purchase. I'll miss the Acura family for now but I have a feeling there will be another in the future. I think for the Acura meets I'll get some tax emblems and be the ugly duckling that tries to fit in.
Thanks!!!

Pics will come when it is cleaned up!
In for pics. Congrats!
I was in the same boat as you a few months ago. I owned my 1G TSX for eight years before moving on to the ST. Loved the TSX, and I had great city MPG (27-28) with it, but I was ready for something sportier and with more grunt.
