Sad. We've all been brainwashed into thinking that big chunky sedans are the fastest things around -- we're all closet NASCAR fans.
Proof: Toyota's efforts to increase Camry sales beyond families and fobs. Now that every sensible person has one, they restyled it and they're now trying to market it to the nutcases too. 268 hp V6, 3495 lbs, NASCAR presence ... now we can all start bump drafting and reenacting our favorite pileups on the 405.
Whereas in Europe, they follow F1 and rally racing, which uses hatchbacks (WRX and Evo aside). Sure, there's the BTCC and DTM, but at least they make right turns.
(This is all tongue in cheek, of course ... )
