Quick question about the Subaru Legacy
Hey guys, for 2006 will the Subaru Legacy get that nasty ass nose grill thats going on the STi? I think it's also on one of their other models not too sure.

with the legacy GT priced as much as the TL, i would not consider the legacy due to some factors (higher insurance premimum, lower resale value, reliability)

first of all, a fully loaded legacy MSRP is over $6300 less than a fully loaded TL. i paid just over 25K for my loaded '05 after rebates. i'm sure there are people out there that paid ~35K for their fully loaded '05 TL this year.
second, i doubt the insurance premiums are higher. i only pay like $7 more a month than i paid for the '01 CL-S. the legacy also gets a discount for being AWD.
third, i doubt the TL is more reliable. Subarus are known for being pretty darn reliable, not to mention fairly easy to work on. over at LegacyGT.com i don't hear of many reliability problems.
the resale thing i'm pretty sure i'll do fine w/ this car since i got a good deal on the initial outlay.
not to mention the fact that the L-GT is insanely moddable compared to the TL. there are an endless number of USDM & JDM parts available for this car. i'm about to spend <$1500 installed on my car and it will be faster than a Comptech s/c'd TL which would cost >$5000.

i've been so busy man. i did have it tinted 20% and had a clear bra installed.
i'm doing up/dn pipe + reflash in the next few days followed by STi springs. pics to follow.

I'm starting to see a few of them on the road here and I really like it.
With $$ out of the picture, I'd still take the L-GT one over a new TL. Acura must have sold 30K of them in PHX alone.

both cars have same MSRP 42k CAD, even subaru has rebate so does acura, both can knock 2000 off easily, but not much more
insurance wise the rates here in toronto is ridiculous, it costs way more than US...however TL's rate is one of the lowest group of all Acuras/hondas in canada...since a 4 door civic would cost more than my TL....a 600 dollar difference a year
i am paying 2900 a year for my TL, and that's consider low, if i get anything subaru my rate would climb up to 5000 dolllar range for non-turbo models, and 6000-8000 for turbos, 10000-12000 for STi
you are lucky with the AWD discount, but for companies in canada they just add extra for everything named subaru because the racing image and high theft
it's not that i don't like it, but i just can't afford the insurance

Are you serious about insuring the STi for 10000-12000???
I really like those cars. The MSRP we pay over here is so high already (compare to US), but we get jacked up on the insurance rates too??

it's already under my mom's name, and i am the second driver, even thou my parents are not here
ask the guys in US, they are paying less than 1000 for every year, and we have to suffer up here
ahgil used to have a STi, but bought a 04TL instead since he found out the rate is 12000 for the second year, then sold it immediately
