Question Question on brake calipers

We are changing brake pads on my 02 Si and we cannont get the caliper(rear) to compress to get it around the new pads. I even went and bought a clamp and the damn thing still will not compress.

I need some ideas and help here.

Thanks

If its on the rear they may turn in, if there are two notches opposite from each other on the piston then you need a caliper set to turn them back in. Or your caliper is seized, you can try cracking the bleeder free and then pushing the piston in, on newer vehicles that will usually work. Just make sure you bleed at least that side afterwards, it would probably be fine, but its better to be safe then sorry.

That would have nothing to do with the piston pushing back in. E-brakes MUST be non-hydralic on cars, that's why they use primative(read simple and reliable) cables through linkages that just move the whole caliper slide.

See if the caliper piston has a notch built in. On a lot of Hondas, the pistons are supposed to be turned in, much like a screw. Also take off the master cylinder cap to relieve the pressure.
