Question about light bulb color temps.

since people on here seem to know a lot about this. Years ago, I put an aftermarket set of foglights on my truck. They are about a $50 set from Auto Zone, Pilot brand I think-nothing expensive, but they put out good light.

They use a standard, clear H3 halogen 55 watt bulb, but the glass lens are blueish tinted to give it that kind of fake hyper-white blueish look to the light. I care nothing for the hyper-white look and really just wish the fogs were yellow.

Need new bulbs now. Given the glass lens are blue-tinted, what would happen if I ordered a set of Nokya Hyper Yellow 2500K H3 bulbs for replacements??? Yellow bulbs with blue tint glass??? Good idea, bad idea, who knows??

Outputs probably gonna be greenish.. depending on how heavily tinted your fog lens is.

indeed- a problem for the color wheel~

Best to go buy another set of Pilots at wallys- ones designated FOG, will have yellow lens/bulb combo. The price keeps dropping on those!
There is a differance in the shape of the reflective back in the housing which makes the beam pattern spread low and wide for fog lights

3000k is ideal fog light color

They are fog lights, just everybody thinks foglights should be #@%&! white now.
I guess I'll take the Nokya yellows out of my TLS and try them in the truck to see what they look like-don't know why I didn't think of that before.

No, they don't. I was thinking I might be able to get the bulb head just stuck up into the light housing and touch the wires to it, just to shine some yellow light through the bluish lens and see how weird the color looks.
