Question about a hose in the cooling system
I am hoping someone can help me with this. My '97 Integra has been leaking coolant & has overheated a couple of times this week. I was all set to get both hoses & thermostat replaced today but couldn't find the lower hose until it was too late for the shop to fix it. I had suspected that there was a leak in the lower hose. As I was adding water to it again, I started looking closer. I noticed a small hose that connects(with clamps)to a small metal tube (this connects to air hoses & top of engine) and then runs down & then toward the front of the motor where it connects to the left hand side of the engine (this end looks like it is just pushed up into a metal opening. The water was leaking right below this small hose. I reached behind it with a paper towel & pushed on it & water gushed out and I could feel the split. I also noticed that it is bulged out at the bend & that it is also resting right on the metal. It looks extremely easy to replace - just not sure what it is called. Any advice would be appreciated.
I think what you're describing is Number #6. Usually there would be an oil leak from the distributor O-Ring onto the hose then it'll crack or just from age.
Go to your dealer and get it. Should be about $20.
