Pulled over TWICE in less than 1 mile!!!

So i was on my way to hit some golf balls today after work and all was well. Was stopped at a traffic light when i saw a Harrington Park (NJ) cop pass me in the other direction when sure enough he pulls a u-turn right behind me. Ive been pulled over enough (for tints) to know he was coming for me so of course the lights come on. I pull into a closed gas station and the whole process goes down as usual. I have a PBA shield in the window and enough PBA cards to build a house (2 family members are retired from the job). Give him my info and walks away before i gave him my cards and i guess he never saw my shield (i know, i know...mistake on my part for not handing the card right away). So i get a tint ticket and it is what it is. So i go to pull out and a Closter cop pulls behind and throws his lights on, no lie 1/4 mile down the road. "You have got to be kidding me"!!! Approaches with caution this time, and i explain what just went down. He was like ok but i was pulling you over because you looked "suspicious" parked in that lot. After me telling him what happened and my family ties to law enforcement, he was like "why didnt you just give him a card" and i told him he was already walking away! long story short i just came here to vent some frustration so sorry for the long post....

At least the 2nd cop seemed pretty nice.

In my opinion, you can't really complain about getting pulled over with tints, it does look hella' suspiscious when they're really dark.

Press enter. What the fuck are tints. And aren't you embarrassing your retired family members by being pulled over so many times?

At least you got out of the second ticket.

Are tint tickets just a fine or do you have to prove you removed the tint? In CA, you have an officer sign off that you removed the tint, plus a fine, IIRC.

So tint is legal if you have a PBA card?

Hmmm, learn something new everyday.

I guess it's ok to break lots of laws as long as you have the right business card....

yes tint is legal if you have a PBA card that actually means something lol... and also to OP dont just hand a cop a PBA card there not like get out of jail free cards you have to ease into it that your family member is a cop and then if he doesnt believe you show him a card... people that just flash cards will probably increase there chances of getting a ticket all you have to say is sorry officer i shoulda known better i have a few family members on the Job and any normal cop with respect will say Cyaaaa

Just to let everyone know, I dont go around breaking the laws ie: speeding, racing, etc and then just think my family relationships warrant me getting out of anything. I have been fortunate (until this point obviously) to have gotten away with the tinting bc of them though. I understand the window tints are illegal and dont deny the fact that I deserved a ticket for them.

The thing I was most frustrated about is I literally was pulled over after pulling out of the spot I was originally pulled over in. Sorry to come off as just another kid thinking he's above the law just bc he knows someone, that was not my intention at all.

K_Johansen,

I'm glad you cleared things up in your third post. Too many sons/daughters/nieces/nephews/neighbors/etc. think they are above the law because they know someone. That attitude is annoying.

As far as haing tinted windows: They ARE illegal in most areas. I have mine tinted on my TL almost 5 years and have never been stopped for it. Prior to that I had tinted windows on other cars for about 12-15 years (crap - I'm old) with no problems ever. I guess it depends on how you drive and the locals' enforcement priorities.

Seriously, same deal here bro.

In the meantime, my son already has a ticket or two for the tint in his Alti.....which is so ridiculously dark that he should have just painted the windows black instead. As some point, he just HAS TO decide that enough is enough with those $65 tickets.....it just has to register as so not worth it to have the tint.

I thought tints was like a portmanteau of tint[ed window]s. Why does that bother people? To say that a car has "tint" seems vague and odd. Are you talking about the paint? I wouldn't naturely assume.

For once I'll agree with wackura.... its not a big deal. I've never called it "tints" but I just don't see why it bugs people so much. Same goes with you're/your... no matter how much you correct someone, they probably just don't give a damn and won't change.

Just like people who say "I'm gonna drop a new motor in my xxx" its wrong but who cares?
