Public transportation had me down...

...so I bought this!

I moved back to Portland from NYC a couple weeks ago, and, nice as it was for 10 months not having to worry about/pay for cars, continuing that just wasn't going to be realistic given where I live and work now. Started looking around and saw they had 0.9% through BMW Financial, and that one of the larger of our two local dealers actually had a strippy(ish) 2011 135i in inventory.

I figured they'd be more than willing to haggle on price with me since it was a manual transmission car, and of course the end of the month. $500 over invoice and 0.9% for 60 months with nothing down (except title and registration fees.) was the deal I wanted, and that's what I ended up with. No sales tax in Oregon which is SWEET when you go to buy a new car.

Options aren't too crazy. M-sport package, Assist/Bluetooth, Harmon Kardon, heated seats, Titanium silver (pretty retarded they charge extra for metallic colors IMO...) and the no charge value package added black leather and Ipod/USB hookup. It's got the aluminum trim on the inside which I wasn't thrilled with but, meh.

Hopefully this newer N55 engine proves more reliable with the HPFP particularly. That really kept me away from considering the 2008-10 models used or whatever, but I don't think there has been too many to speak of yet, if any.

Nice pickup. Friend of mine's got one, they're pretty effing quick. Looks like you got a good deal too

I could never willingly survive not having access to a car, though.

Congrats and welcome back to P-Town. You've returned just in time for the rain!!!

Where did you take that picture? Looks like either Nike or Intel.

Yeah only time will tell. Didn't BMW at least address the issue by putting a special warranty on those fuel pumps for a whopping 10 years or something?

Thanks! I'm trying to go easy on it till I get more comfortable with the clutch and shifter, and to let the engine run in a bit. I'm not gonna wail on it for at least 1000 miles or so.

As for mods, maybe a cat-back exhaust at some point. I'm a fan of leaving the nuts and bolts alone on a nice car these days though and just keeping it clean.

Nice to be back but yeah, I forgot how rainy and gloomy it can be around here.

The 1-series has grown on me. Not a fan of the color combo, I like the lemon interior especially, but this is very easy to keep clean

Good luck with the HPFP

Nice pick up. Most important is M sport. Lemon is nice but hard to keep clean.

Welcome to Bimmerzine, where you can brag on your 1, 3, 5, 6, or 7-series with no fear!

Seriously, that's a nice little car. I'm sure that will be fun to toss around once it's broken in. Congrats!

Nice pick up...if I lived in NYC, I'd almost miss the "not driving".
