Project "Round and Brown" Cuckmasters in Full Effect: rockstar143 Edition
All started with search for something else I could potentially buy for cheap that could easily transport a car seat, be a manual, get decent gas mileage...and maybe even Germanic in decent.
The V and the S2000 both have their places in my driveway IMO...and they are both pretty well sorted out. I don't have as much time or disposable income as my previous married life afforded but I still have a desire to tinker here and there. A ton of real POS' popped into my search, including this one. What really prompted me to follow up was it looked like a clean up special...just a neglected car that needed love, which is my specialty. Also, there's a part of me that really admires the shabby chic style of some banged up looking cars stanced out nicely at the car shows.
Price was way low...college car and the seller has 3 kids now and outgrew it after driving it all over the country for a decade. Previous owner was her father in law in California so no rust car.
met up to take a look and had a ton of little bs issues with interior and door lock actuators and a broken front grill and sun baked headlights...normal for 185K miles
With that...I decided to pass and when I did, the guy made me a deal I couldn't walk away from. Drove it, and it put a smile on my face...the 6MT was smooth, power was decent (although not a lot feels fast after the v, in fairness), turbo was doing it's thing...brakes and suspension felt robust...air conditioning was cold af...radio worked great along with every bulb save for the rear brake/signal and license plate.
So, with my VW GTI cousin having given me a ride...I paid the man and we scooted home. He was surprised at how hard it was to keep up with me when I gave it the mustard.
Plans? Who knows...pip insurance and a tag...keep it for my sister when she visits with her baby...maybe use it when I am going to a shady part of town and want to get 30mpg or when I'm in the mood for manual when I have the baby. I want to clean up the headlights and fix the broken grill, maybe get some S5 wheels and h&r springs...remove the resonator...stage II ECS tune...
or just drive that bitch just the way it is until the wheels fall off and make it project no funds spent on it.
Well, it doesn't have torque vectoring sporty diffs and whatnot, but it's still a worthy and pretentious chariot in my eyes.

first off let me say congrats J... i know you were looking/considering something else for a bit now... i was getting a little nervous opening up this thread thinking the V or S or even both got replaced...
but after it sets in that you are managing three cars and one gets driven less and less, which one of the toys will go first...

The leather seats look fucking brutal... though I bet you can get them looking good again with some elbow grease. Better to wait for Joe to finish pounding your ass before you clean them though. Things might happen after.

First off, that may be the best thread title I have ever read. Second off congrats man! Enjoy it in good health!
Alltrack is VW speak. Allroad is Audi speak.
It's also called allroad here. I'm currently eyballing a 2005 allroad with quattro, air suspension, and a 2.7 TWIN TURBO! Really really thinking about it right now.

Congrats J! I hope your wallet is able to withstand the repeated beatings an old VW will provide.
In all seriousness, enjoy it. Always nice to have a beater sitting around.

So might as well salvage it and put it to good use while you can!
Also remove the turn signals too.. y'all German fucks don't bother using those anyway

Just curious... will an LS swap fit in the engine bay? Asking for a friend.
