Doubt anyone's really waiting anymore but FWIW I should conclude this thread. Also because we're all holed up due to COVID-19.
What's happened since my last post in July 2018:
- Attended SEMA 2018 and decided on a bucket list item: get the car into the show
- Jan 2019: Landed sponsors Yellowspeed Racing (BBK, Airstruts) and Accuair - the only reason I wanted sponsors was to get to SEMA, cos you can't enter as a private party
- Feb 2019: Lost my job at Apple due to a big layoff
- Juggled an engine refresh, bay respray, BBK/bags install with finding a new job inside Apple, quitting it, then finding another one outside
- Started a youtube channel in the summer (which basically ended just before SEMA): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQL...PKLPTfIj7dTTdw
- Made it to SEMA 2019 and into HondaProJason's summary video (@47:38)
Since we'll be stuck at home for some time to come, I'll be watching this space and perhaps posting more retrospectives...

Engine out for refresh - moved house in late 2018 so I finally have a garage
YSR BBK and airstruts...
... sized for the Evo X rims
Engine bay primered
And painted with a color that almost matched the orange vinyl
Bays before and after. I've since swapped in an AEM CAI, DC headers to follow.
Cut a hole in the bed floor and made a subframe to mount the Accuair Endo-CVT

Some shots from my first show last year - CARNVL. Pictured here with my crew (up to and including the blue Itasha Accord). Decided that parking butt-out works best for me...
Most of these shots are courtesy of Jason Santoyo (IG@jznsn2u).
Made a new mod board.
Met a fellow Yellowspeed Racing sponsoree Eugene F. and did a quick iPhone shoot with his S13.5 drift truck!

Thought I'd share some build details. Here's the "Prelute" grille badge I made from laser cut acrylic, and the steering wheel center cap using the same illustrator file that I reverse engineered and modified. My horn never worked and I have yet to rewire it to the sunroof switch.
3D printed Accuair control pad mount with magnetic pads. Idea is that I can remove the control pad for security reasons, much like old school radio faceplates. Last image is a close up of how I installed the rear height sensors, with a pass-through into the rear seat area for the wire and airline.
Also experimented with an awning for camp outs and shows... didn't turn out to be that useful in the end, but at this particular Honda/Acura meet where it was pouring in May (unusual for us), it was super helpful in keeping the bed dry.
The bed in use after a meet that I organized - two bikes, a folding table, four folding chairs and a bunch of other supplies.

Nice! Thanks for checking back in. I love the Prelute badge out front. That's the level of detail that really sets it apart. And most normies wouldn't even notice it.

Some pics of the Prelute carrying various kinds of precious cargo. Starting with Costco, and my slowest drive home ever:
As expected, car parts found their way into the bed often enough:
And boxes for work of course.
Can't beat this one. Well, maybe someone else can, but this is likely the only time I'm gonna have two models in my bed.

When I was a really youngun, There was a guy that worked in a building with my dad. He had some hotrods (and a P-51 Mustang, but that's a different story) and told me something that really stuck. Something along the lines of one of the greatest rewards from building a hot rod is the photoshoots with the half naked hot models.
Someday I still want to reach that point.

They came with my H2B 5-lug civic but I preferred the CTR rims so I was trying to sell these (four AP1 fronts) to a Prelude or 5-lug civic owner. Funny enough, they ended up being drift wheels for a FD RX-7.
Back when I was toying with a backstory about the Prelute being the ride of a sexy assassin Cinderella (bodies and weapons in the back of a pumpkin carriage, etc), I actually commissioned a cosplayer for a photoshoot (but it eventually fell through due to scheduling). She would have been inspired by this:

Could have sworn I have seen this car before... turns out I saw your Prelute were in the AAC mailing list. Did you ever get your next powertrain sourced, or did plans change?
Nice build man! I think I have seen you around one of the campuses as well (SPG guy here)

Since that time I decided my next big project would be an EV conversion for the learning value, and on impulse I bought a non-running 2000 Boxster S. But since then my H2B civic also died, and I can't decide which platform I want to use now.
Either way, powertrain is likely to be a Leaf motor with some Li-ion batteries similar to those on the Chrysler Pacifica.
