I had to inform her after driving for about 15 minutes with her that I had put new exhaust on. She had no idea.

I don't know that you'll kill rasp though, I felt like rasp was reduced drastically with upstream high flow cat and wrapping the exhaust with header wrap.

Labor intensive but might be worth it.
Yeah from what I've been told by a few friends who are keen on exhaust setups (built many of their own custom ones) that Vibrant makes some good stuff. Reasonably priced too. I'm not as worried about the rasp as I am with the overall volume of it. If I find it to be too raspy still I'll look into that. Thanks J.

The vibrant ultra quiet is straight through design and I've heard good things. I'll be looking into one for my setup.

Wheels look really good but there is something about the back that I can't put my finger on, looks too busy. Not sure if it is the diffuser, pipes, or the carbon lip but JMO.

Looking back, maybe just the angle and reflections in post #295

If I may interject my own observation of YOUR observation...
I think it's the reflection of the sign off the back window AND the trunk spoiler...it looks primered and not CF. I know Steven Bell will probably ban me but I don't care how space age and awesome a material is...it's black and it kills the flow of the car if it's on an extremity like the bottom of a bumper or top of window where it kinda blends with the tinted glass.

That's my opinion as a professional aesthetic coordinator...so who knows

You are spot on, if that was a black spoiler people would tell you to paint it but let's be honest, it looks like it needs to be painted.

Oh, I'm in the same boat

As least you guys are de-railing threads in an interesting way, unlike on a different forum where I'm being publicly scrutinized by one idiot who seems to think when I ask one question about wheel bolts he thinks that means he should start throwing weights of my wheels and unsprung weight around after telling him I was fully aware they aren't light wheels and am fully aware of the effects of unsprung weight on my car. I haven't had to tell anyone to go away yet here, so for once in its life, AZ is proving to be better lol.

Steering feels the same as it did before. Braking is the same. Accel is still painfully slow as it was before.

Maybe on the Merc cause it's a solid tank so inertia makes up for the extra weight?

But c'mon...on the CL with the Advan, you had to have noticed how much "lighter" the car felt when taking off from a light. I know I do...not like all of a sudden I have torque...but it "feels" different.

Too subjective...
maybe you're not feeling it since yours aren't light
and I'm feeling it cause i spent a ton for it.

I mean that's part of it I feel like. It's not light so I feel like the added weight doesn't have much difference over stock as far as feel goes. What does "take off from a light" mean? I haven't really ever been hard on the CL except right when I got it, but that was 6 years ago, and I have trouble remembering what I had for dinner two days ago sooooo...

LOL...I don't even mean a hard launch...I'm talking about the car just feeling like it gets rolling more effortlessly from a dead stop.

Oh lol. You don't launch hard every time?

And not really, I really honestly drive the CL as James May would. Mr Slowly.

I wish I was that disciplined when buying a car. It's not a terribly important detail to me unfortunately.

My very first car was automatic...had that for 6 months after learning on my mom's 1990 Civic SI. Then, for one month I owned an automatic truck. Other than that, 18 years of manual cars! Hugely important detail to me.

That's impressive J!

So hopefully gonna get some pics of the car this weekend. Import Alliance is tomorrow, hopefully some friends will be able to get some rolling shots of it and we will also shoot somewhere I'm sure.

Got some great pics this weekend, of both cars! Gonna work on editing them tonight and I think my friend should have his edited pretty soon as well. Got some great rollers!

Also I'm pretty sure I'm keeping the exhaust as is.

Yeah, don't hack up a $2800 exhaust if you don't have to...worst case, enjoy it for a bit and sell it if it ends up being too much. Can the oem exhaust work with the rear diffuser?
