Also, the rearview mirrors are some of the cheapest looking shit I have ever seen. Isn't this a $50K car?

WTF Ford?
More like a $39K car. And these are only cosmetics that can easily be changed. The engine and performance is what makes the car not the looks.

Don't get your panties all bunched up guys, this nor any of the other pics floating around are production vehicles. There are a number of test cars that Ford has shown and this is one. Hai Thai-Tang has stated that the look of the GT500 isn't set in stone just yet, nor is the hp rating.

I prefer the live axle in the Cobra, because after all it's more at home on a drag strip then a race track.

While the C4S (awd) might be popular with some because of the awd feature, the C2S is the rarer of the two. These cars command high prices even tho that are almost 10 years old.
Early-mid 90's Supra Turbo, Olds Achieva S, late 80's turbo Celicas, turbo MR2's...they are getting harder & harder to find...

I think the newer(2003-2005) M45's are going to be a hot item in a few years also...they are very hard to find now...let alone in a few years time.

I fall into the catagory that perfers drag racing to formula or road course. This doesn't mean I don't like that kind of racing. It just means that given the choice of going to a drag meet or a road course race, I'll take the trip to the drags every time.

Personal preference. And yes, live rear axles are much better on a drag strip then IRS setups. And Ford's new Mustangs have perhaps the best live rears ever offered in a solid axle car. Good for them, I say.

Personally , I think the new Mustangs are dynamite and I hope Ford sells a boat load of them (which they will). If I were currently in the market for a car, the Mustang would be a VERY strong contender for my money.

I agree with you entirely SouthernBoy. I'm primarily an F1 fan, but also enjoy a few quarter mile runs from time to time. A local Ford dealer has agreed to take a deposit from me once the moment the Shelby is available for order, and that thing is going down the track before its first oil change.

The Mustang has not received any ill comments in regards to the new rear live axle set up in the current car, and I expect the upcoming Shelby won't either.

Don't think that color scheme is the greatest.

I was looking for a better pic of the car, but all I found was way better looking older stangs.

I guess in reality the great part about the gt500 now is the bang per buck, some more pics...

yes, but are you gonna throw 40K down on a stock car to "drag race"? Hell fucking no. You'll buy a GT, throw another 10K into it and have a much quicker car.
