I wonder how he blew it with the rev limiter? If you do a 6-4 or 5-2 shift will that blow the engine if you leave it in there or will the limiter just shut it down and keep bounding until the idiot figured out what he did?

The Celica GTS was having bigtime blown engine problems accompanied by class action lawsuits. I still don't know how you can sue them if you screwed up the shift.

The rev limiter only works on acceleration, it won't help on a missed down shift. That's why I never get fancy with a stick until I've gotten the pattern/feel down pat.

It's because this fucked up country allows retards to sue for their own retardedness (and win).

I think the problem with the celica's was that the shift mechanism had the gear TOO close to one another, and many people were shifting into 2nd instead of 4th.

if the gears are spaced adequately, then it could be that the guy just fucked up. this can happen in any car w/ a manual tranny (i think a lot of manuals have a max. mph lockout for 1st gear but not 2nd).

i think if it happens to alot of cars of that particular model, it can be deemed a design problem (as in the celica...are they still offering that 6spd?) rather than driver mistake.
