Problem with engine shakes after BIG SPLASH??
My friend's car, i believe a 1995 Chrysler town and country went over spalsh of water, and engine started to shake. From the look of engine bay, the distributor seems to be dry. I checked spark plug coils, and they are all dry. There is a weird part about the acceleration, when i try to rev the engine up to keep the engine more stable, there seems to be a delay. When i turn the accelerator, it takes 2 secs for the engine to actually react. What could be possible problems with the car??
Did you pull off the distributor cap to examine the rotor/underneath?
There might be moisture inside the cap. I'd also take the opportunity to wipe off the inside of each wire boot. Hopefully it's just a little moisture underneath the cap that's causing the misfires.
Check the air filter element element to see if it's wet form water, too, although it shouldn't be if the "splash" was transient/just for a second.
G/L.
