Thanks. These cars can be addicting to drive, especially once you start throwing mods at it.

Nothing exciting to report. I have an oil catch sitting in my room waiting to install and I ordered a front lip from the UK a month ago that still hasn't arrived.

I've been researching wind fairings for the car to keep wind noise down from the roof rack. I was ready to order a universal fairing from Inno and then came across a new one from Yakima. I spent a few weeks getting in contact with Yakima and other vendors selling it to get the outside mounting point specs to make sure it would fit. No one could tell me what the measurements were, so I made a template and guessed where they might be. Based off my guess, I determined it should fit and I placed an order for one. It arrived yesterday and I'm very happy with it. While I'm not really one for decals, I threw one on to let others know I'm not stock.

I was also getting a lot of rattling from my license plate and frame with only two bolts securing it on top. I replaced the fasteners with security bolts and put them on all four corners to fix the rattling.

yeah, i guess my biggest complaint of the car would be the torque steer though.

I remember on my test drive, I floored it and the car was pulling hard to the right from tq steer. I wasn't ready for it since I was coming from the AWD Golf R. The new RS will be nice having AWD.

Installed the oil catch can and front splitter today with a friend. The front end looks so much more aggressive now!

Thanks, Tyler. Even though your progress is slacking, I know you're enjoying the car and taking your time with it.

At this point, coilovers and wheels are the next big things to do. My clutch slipped twice today doing 3rd gear pulls, so that might be the next thing I purchase.

The S2000 is a drivers car. I'm sure I'd be happy driving one bone stock for a long time. The ST has much to be desired in stock form. It responds very well to mods and the desire for more quickly takes over.

Will do, Tim. I don't think it will compare to your friends Ferrari's though. We need to set up another meet in St Pete.

Damnit! Maybe it was a fluke, or better yet, maybe it did spin. The first time it happened, I hit a -5 correction in cyl 3. I decided to datalog a second pull and it felt like it slipped again, but had no negative corrections to worry about.

New clutch at 21k miles sounds like a warranty claim unless you've been doing burnouts non-stop...

You know the test right? Drive up to ~15mph, shift to 4th, floor it. If the rpm's bounce, new clutch time. If they go up slowly, there's something else going on.

Is there a clutch delay valve on the ST?

I won't be able to claim a warranty for a new clutch with all of my mods. The car is making approx 90 lb-ft TQ more than stock. It happened on a 3rd gear pull starting from around 2500 and the rpms immediately jumped up to around 4500 for a couple seconds. I've only done a couple burnouts on accident from dumping the clutch using launch control. I never floor it in high gear either. I think it's just part of them game when you're making a lot more power than stock.

Here are my approx numbers based on a datalog I plugged into VDyno. These tend to be pretty accurate for my car.

^ That might have been wheel spin and not clutch slip if you're doing a pull.

I'd try the high gear, low speed test and see what happens.

+90lbft isn't that much given that the factory Ford Performance tune is similar and retains the factory warranty.

Hopefully. The road looked like it was covered in dirt from construction the second time I did it. I'll keep an eye on it and do a low speed, high gear pull to check.

Couple minor things installed yesterday. I replaced the bushing that goes on the shifter arm. The OEM bushing has a lot of play and this tightened up the last little bit of slop in my shifter setup. I also bought a used intake tube. There really aren't many gains to be had from this, but I wanted to improve my flow as much as possible and it makes cool sounds.

It's not so bad once you remove the engine cover. Everything is fairly accessible from either the top or bottom. It's an easy car to work on.
