Possible Cheaper, Alternative Fuel for Acuras?
Guys!
I've been doing research about alternative fuels out on the market today.. I'm sure at least one of you heard of the fuel E85 ... It's composed of 85% Ethanol and 15% gasoline .... I was wondering, although there are MANY cars out there that we drive already that are fuel flexible, which we never even knew about : i.e. DaimlerChrysler, Ford, GM cars, as well as a few Nissans models, are our Acuras Fuel Flexible as well?... What I mean by that question is that will our cars be able to run on E85 as an alternative to regular gas?
FYI: Compared to the current $2.89 for regular 87 octane, E85 is only $2.54!!! It's been priced to be competitive to other octanes out there by the American Coalition for Ethanol.

Usually, i'm the one speeding around cutting people off trying to get where I have to go. Dude.. we should meet up sometime.. it'd be cool.
we prob should meet up sometime. but i'm in warwick most of the time because yea i go to hendricken but got maybe one month left and alot of my freinds live up there. but if u see a white QX4 with the stock 3 spoke rims(soon to be 20-22's chrome) then it's me. there is me and only one other truck like mine around this state . i'm actually locted in coventry but on the west warwick coventry line.
1) E85 compatible vehicles have upgraded materials in their fuel system as I've been told that ethanol is corrosive in the long term to certain parts. Thus, E85 compatible vehicles have different types of materials in their fuel system to prevent corrosion.
2) You will obtain 20-30% reduction in fuel efficiency when running E85 as I believe it has a decreased net energy output compared to gasoline.

According to the searches I did for stations, None are anywhere near me, & most of the US stations are "no public access".
So even if the car ran on it, you would waste more $$ finding it.

No our car isnt listed, 2.54 is very expensive for that. Its 1.99 here. i wouldnt use it either. I hate using any fuel with 10% in it. I notice a reduction in mileage when using the stuff with 10% in it.
Vehicle listing is below. Unfortunately, if your vehicle is not listed, your vehicle is NOT E85 compatible.
