Oliver!!!
I'm sure the Garmin will be fine. I just ordered a 755T the other day. Had a 250W a while back, but the battery in it was crap. Factory defect, within two weeks it wouldn't run without being plugged in. Other than that, it was great. I wound up getting a TomTom 920. It was nice, but the routing engine in it wasn't nearly as good as the Garmin. I also borrowed a friend's Magellan for a few weeks. Hated it. Wanted to return it after two days, but she wouldn't take it back until I gave it a fair shake. The routing in it was the worst of all. The speaker wasn't loud enough for me to hear and it seemed like it didn't tell you to turn until you were going through the intersection. If you were watching the screen, you were fine. But you don't want to watch the screen while you're driving.

Advanced
i have a I think about 3 year old Tom Tom. iot is GREAT.
I can't take a long trip without. Used it for car trips to Washington DC, NYC , and what is great about a portable is that you can put in a rental car wherever you go!
I have taken it with me when I have rented cars in Florida, Vancouver, and even Hawaii.
The machine works great!!

i have the 205 W and i love it... it can be a bit frustrating at times when i forget to update it every 2 months but for the most part it serves its purpose perfectly... and its black to match my interior

The Box
I just ordered a Garmin Nuvi 780. It was on sale at Newegg for $165, looking forward to it coming. I just made a play list and ordered an adapter to put in an AUX input in my car. I will mainly be using it for MP3's and Bluetooth and will occasionally go places I don't know.

The screen is too small
The battery dies too quickly
Other than that, I think Sprint's navigation is awesome, works just like a handheld GPS. Google maps, I don't like as much unless I'm trying to find a POI in the area.
