this is a great track car as it is - and with the LS1 motor, it would just be ridiculous on the track..

Clean car and a nice swap. I've always liked that body style and the addition on the SBC makes the car even better. It's more reliable, cheaper to mod, and more powerful.

That's a surprising clean install. The interior looks great too.

It looks like a fantastic ride to really have some fun with.

Am i the only person who thinks this is just WRONG?

Wonder how nose heavy it is now, then again it does look like its pushed far back. I bet it sounds terrible for a porshe. For Shame!

I'm kinda with you on that... if you want a LS1, just buy a GM product...

This one isn't as bad as some of the renegade 911's I've seen tho'...

(I know jesal, they are messing with the german pedigree )

Nah, you wouldn't want to do that too a 916 (914-6)... they're too valuable...

But if you did it too a 914 w/ fender flares, I guess it would be ok... BUT there is something to be said about the way a flat four sounds... The type4 motor can be bored and stoked out to put out some decent hp numbers (for an small aircooled motor)...

You could start out with something like this:

If you're going to go early 70's porsche, might as well go w/ a 911, and stuff a 3.6L motor in it out of a 964 or 993 IMHO

Valid concerns, I wonder how much weight is added with the LS1. Regardless, I bet this handles better than an A4.

I am going to go out on a limb and say not much, if any. The LS1 is very light.

If you gonna go w/ a honda engine, you really should think about shoehorning a b18 into one of these:

Thank you. That is along the same lines I was thinking.

And remember, the 968 had a BIG ASS 4 in it.... 3.0L

Depends... on how old you are

When I was young, they didn't have no stinking radiators in a porsche

the LS1 is extremely light for what it is, I highly doubt it's heavier and most likely is lighter then the big 4 banger that was in there at first.

For reference, people bitched about the LS1's in the RX7's because they said it'd get rid of the balance, the LS1 was only like 20 lbs heavier then the 13b w/ turbos

Fine, its light. Still wrong!

Show up in a 69 camaro with a 3.6 Twin Turbo engine and you get a beat down by muscle car fans.
