Pops might be getting rid of his SL500 for a 2008 Z06!
My dad has been getting the itch to get back into Corvettes for a while now. He has had a 67 Stingray vert, a 82,84,88,89,90,91,92,93,98,99,2001,2002. Then he bought a 2002 CLK 55, a 2003 SL 500 and he currently has a 2004 SL500.
We found a couple of places with 2008 silver Z06s, and the price varies alot. One dealer was only gonna give him $42K for his car.....another said 48K....but we found a dealer thats willing to give him $52K.
His Car is a fully loaded SL500 with the sport package and panoramic roof with 3500 miles. KBB says its worth $55K, so now we have to go to the dealer and wheel and deal.
...hopefully, pics to follow!

He has a silver 2004 SL500.
Pull a me....He makes about 10X what I make....he can swing it.
The only thing is....
He is almost 60...and the only manual car he has had was the 67 Stingray. He is gong to test drive it today....we'll see if he likes it.

no doubt 3500 miles that car is practically new!!! MB resale has gone to sheit!! WTF I remember a day.. when SL's used to be worth something.

3500 miles aside, its still a 4 year old car, considering its age I think the depreciation is about average. Yes its a higher sum of money, but the percentage lost probably isn't terrible, until you factor in the cost per mile to drive it!
Why is he going with a Z06? I think that car is overkill for 95% of drivers, in particular older drivers, a C6 with Z51 package should be more then enough fun. I realize the car only goes as fast as you press the gas pedal, but its just too tempting to do something dumb in a z06.

He drove it and said he RALLY likes it...and its a blast to drive!
He said he'd do it for his car an $21K....we'll see what the dealr counters with!

I said what I said b/c I would imagine that most deals like this either don't end up happening or don't happen the first time (nature of selling new cars), and the way AZ is, if you don't come up with pics of you & your dad in the car with a birth certificate & an Acurazine sign, there will be people that call BS on it. You know this as well as I do. No sense in calling names. Especially when you resort to anything ending in "face".
