Poll: which car would you choose ?

Ok so which car would you choose if this is the ONLY car you have, therefore, practical issue, comfort, performance and etc are all part of consideration

No other suggestion please

If it's the only car I could have, it'd go with the C230 auto.

already have a 350ZR so that knocks out the S2000 leaving the Merc 6spd I guess which in reality, I'd never buy anyways.

out of those i'd take the s2k, just because i'd never want to own the 'bottom of the line' benz. all you're really paying for there is the name.

i could make plenty of better suggestions in that range, but if those are the only choices the honda wins by default, practical or not.

The C230 blows. The numbers are supposed to be the other way! C320 maybe.

Since those are the only choices, I'm with agean on this one. I could live with an S2000 in the winter with good winter tires. At least it wouldn't break down on me, and at least the heaters wouldn't die.

I picked the C 6mt... but for 1/2 the price you could just get a G35c

I have an s2k, and I'd trade it for a c230. So I picked c230 6mt.

I wouldn't want either Merc so I would go with the S2k.

Personally, if I wanted a fun car that was relatively practical, I would look into the new WRX STi Limited Edition.

I would never buy a MB, considering how poor quality the C32 AMG he had. My uncle in Singapore was left stranded with his 3 month old 2004 C230 kompressor because the main computer didn't like his key (not a cool way to spend US$200,000 for a car you can only own for 10 years). He's also had other problems with that South African assembled auto and my bro has traded up to a Lexus GS300AWD...

If it wasn't for practicality, I'd get the S2000. I would never even consider those C230 Mercs. They weigh as much as my TL-S yet only have the power of a TSX. "THE HORROR...THE HORROR..."

So, you want a balanced everyday car, then the C230 6mt would be the best of the three. But since this is an Acura forum, I won't vote on it.

Well, it's a tough choice since you're looking for an everyday car. Reason it's a tough choice is that I'd never buy a Mercedes C class. Reliability is just too aweful on those things.

So, by process of elimination I voted for the S2000.

I voted for the C230 auto, I'm too big to have the S2K as an everyday car. But I would sell it and get a '04 CLK430

I voted for the Auto Merc. The S2K would be way too impractical for me with a 100 mile commute, 1 baby, and one on the way. And because of that long commute, I would take the auto over the stick.

As it is, I already have to get rid of my GTO.

The S2000 is bit more purpose built and is definitely the choice of the options available. Given the price on the typically equipped C230 (~$33k), there are a number of other sedans a I would easily consider first (TL, G35S, TSX, 325i and Passat come rushing to mind).

yah i have a friend who has a s2k he loves this car but just not very practical for him... he wanted a G35C... but infiniti financial services is being a dick to him.....
He tried to get 325.... the monthly payment is $100more the C230 with same price tag. he has tried many different bmw dealer... same shit everywhere.

And he doesnt want FWD cars.. so that eliminate most of acura/honda

so he has no other chocies other than C230 sedan (within his price range)

I'm withdrawing the nomination for the 230-I saw one on the road and was reminded how ugly it is. S2000 all the way then I guess.

I'd never buy the bottom of the line anything.

C series is the red-headed stepchild of the Mercedes family.

If he's looking at an S2k and a G35C, he's gonna be severely disappointed with how the C230 drives. It's a real porker by comparison.

What exactly is IFS saying to him that is upsetting him?

So you wouldn't buy a 3 series?

The C350 from everything I've read sounds like a great car.

First IFS said he needs put more down payment.. he said ok... then they changed their mind saying They need some security deposit, he wasnt happy but he still said ok... THEN they said OHH on top of that, he needs a CO SIGNER.... he was like WTF is their problem????

He has financed 2 cars before and his credit isnt PERFECT but alot better than average. 680-690.

he has tried other banks such as MBZ and BMW and they said his credit is fine...

c230s are nice looking cars, but no where as fun to own as an s2k.
