UNKNOWN COATINGS!!!! UNKNOWN COATINGS!!!
Im sure some of you have heard of this company and I should have did some research first, And this thread may not even be in the right place and if so Im Sorry I just need help with this!!! On Nov 21st 2014 I sent my wheels to Unknown Coatings after a few messages back and forth on FB and a few texts with owner Shawn Shreve he promised me that my wheel faces (WEDS KRANZE BAZREIA 18") would be copper plated and ceramic Clear coated he told me it would be 175 a face I sent him the wheels when he received them on dec 1st he sent me a text message saying that the wheels would be done by dec 3rd which was on a Wednesday I felt a little weird about it then but said ok just send me some pics when there done, Wednesday rolls around he texts me first thing in the morning wheels are done I have them packed up and ready to be shipped, I immediately said what about the pictures I don't wanna pay for something I haven't seen he told me that his girl had pics on her phone and that he would send them to me as soon as she got out of class. I went ahead and payed him threw google wallet $700.00 ever since then it has been excuse after excuse he has told me numerous times the wheels were finished and he still hasn't shipped them back I payed for return shipping . He has also told me that he took them to UPS his self on atleast 2 occasions now as of Dec 29th I received a package from him with 1 Varstoen wheel inside and a email from him saying he was sorry that he sent my faces to a buddy of his in texas on accident , Everytime I mention to him anything about him needing to figure out something about my wheels or whatever he just shrugs it off and says don't worry about it there coming, I have texts, receipts, emails, FB messages all of this showing him telling me all of this!!! PLEASE SHARE THIS AROUND!!! ON OTHER FORUMS WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO PLEASE HELP ME GET MY WHEELS BACK!!! That's all I want!!! thanks!!

 

first mistake...doing business with a company named "unknown coatings"

actually, name of company is perfect.
They dont know what they coated your wheels with and is keeping your money and wheels.

Discover card has consumer protection for cases like this.
I would contact your credit card company.

this just another that was me saying that's gonna be fast he didn't have to rush and then he told me I can take longer if u want


Well I contacted google wallet they said there was nothing they could do which is why im sure this is why he uses this company, this was also a present from my girlfriend to have these done for me for Christmas gift......

I seen all this after the fact!

 

You shipped your wheels to some random dude you found on FB/you've never met in person and to have refinished by a business you've never actually visited/checked out?

 

Seems legit.

 

You're out the cost of your wheels, and the $700...whats another couple hundred for a plane ticket to Utah...go whoop some ass!

 

was this over state lines? If yes, the FBI might be able to help you catch this guy. Give your local office a call and talk to them.

 

i actually was refrenced by another guy on FB on one of these wheel pages and i checked his instagram and website all his work looked good , i had heard of him before just not all the negative......

 

No matter what it is I'm doing to my car, I always find someone local who has a good to great reputation.

Local = no shipping costs and no plane ticket fees! = No headache and I hold onto my money until whatever it is, is in my posession!

Just in case something like this happens.
