Pix of my alum dash, door sills, TSX knob, tinted lights
Been doing some cosmetic mods while I wait to get my new springs and CAI put on. Still working on shift boot. The smaller and MUCH heavier TSX knob makes for shorter and more solid shifts.

The TSX shift knob is $130 new at the dealer, so I got it off ebay for about $40. The S2000 shift knob (which I had before and sold) is the same except the shift pattern is in black instead of red. The TSX cost almost double cause I heard it comes from Japan.
OEM prices
04 TSX knob - $130
04 TL knob $75
03 CL knob $195!!!! rip off, so lightweight, must be plastic.
the s2000 is just as nice as the TSX and a little easier to find on ebay. really heavy and solid, totally different shift feel.

THanks, the brushed aluminum dash kit is a little trickier install than the plastic coated wood ones I've installed. I was only gonna install the center console but decided later to go on and put on the upper trim around the Navi and air vents. I think it might be a little too much now.
I can pull off the upper dash stuff later, but it was not cheap!
Can't wait to get the springs on and drop it.

Thanks. I need to get a new boot for the shifter. I don't want to disassemble the stock one to fit the TSX knob but I might. I like those boots with the red stitching.
Next I hope to clear the headlights or at least get silver/amber turn bulbs. Still want to remove the spoiler but the trunk work and repaint is too much money.

Wheels - No I didn't like the painted 03 CL rims so I put on 03 TLS rims, they look like the 01-02 CLS rims but don't get scratched, cause they don't stick out as far.
Dash Kit- Well, the 03 CLS does not come with wood trim in the black leather, it has silver 'titanium' trim where the fake wood was on the 01-02. The brushed aluminum kit I added does not cover the stock trim. see pix again.
Trunk lid- I'd love to find one local. But there is no chance of one in a junkyard, come on! Anthracite was only made for the 03s.
I'm trying to find a live car to swap + some cash. . No luck yet.
I took off the spoiler today to check out the lid, there are 5 holes all pretty big. I cleaned it up, waxed it and put it back together.
I've seen a lot of CL that look better than mine on here, thanks for the compliments, ya'll!

I am thinking about putting this TSX knob on also , but , I have a question : I Notice from the pics that the shift boot seems to be just "unattached" or 'disconnected' from the stock setup---- can it be put bck the way it was with the OEM shift knob ???

No the stock 03 shifter snaps into a fat chrome plastic collar that is attached to the top of the boot. You can remove the collar and then attach the loose boot material to the shift stick lever with a tie underneath, that's what most have done. I don't want to take my stock boot apart just yet, but I might. Have to see how easy it would be to put it back together stock.
The TSX, S2000 knob is shorter and sits lower than the stock knob too, which is nice, you get a shorter shifter just by changing the knob!
I'ts still work in progress.
thanks dark... let me know if you see one in Houston.
also, the tinted tails look much better near dark and at night. Makes the butt look sleeker with the anthracite.

I also did a paint detail this weekend. Meg NXT wash, claybar, Meg ColorX paint cleaner, Meg NXT new generation sealant wax, and then a topper of S100 carnauba paste wax that Harley Davidson sells. The NXT is the slickest glossiest wax I've ever used and super easy, no residue or staining, smells good.
The S100 being a natural carnauba wax adds depth when applied over the more durable NXT sealant wax. yes, I've been reading over at autopia.org
Car looks wet and has a depth that just the NXT alone did not have.
Tomorrow I'm putting another layer of S100, supposed to get deeper and deeper.

Tint film I got off of one of the sponsors here, C,C,C custom car creations I think. THey gave me very good service. I think there might be better film for this, but this worked alright. I'd give it a C+. or B-. Maybe all tinit is like this, not easy to do perfectly w/o bubbles, and does not stretch well over curves IMO.
secret- my roadlamps are not wired up just yet,
they did not come on the 03s.

With respect to the dash kit -- how do you apply this -- does it stick on or does it replace the individual components? Is this the 'raw brushed aluminum' or 'synthetic brushed aluminum' from http://www.exoticwooddash.com ?
How long does a stick on application last? What has your experience been with these products in the past? I'd hate to have a nice looking dash today that looks ghetto with peeling corners in a few months?
For a shift boot, look into the boots from http://www.ricks2k.com . The S2000 boot fits well into our receptacle and they do a lot of nice styles.

Dash kit - Again the aftermarket kits do Not replace any existing trim part on the car...zilch, none. THe dash sites all have diagrams to show you what parts you get. They even included a piece to cover the sunglass holder door but I did not use it.
The pieces apply over the black plastic parts of the dash that do not have any existing trim. You have to be very careful and position it right the first time cause it ain't comin up, without having to bend and mess it up. If you stick it on lightly you can usually get it up ok to reposition, but it's tricky.
I used the raw brushed aluminum. It is metal, not covered in plastic and it's just what you'd expect, it's brushed aluminum with a solid adhesive coating on the back.
They supposedly stick on forever. I've only used one kit before and it was solid for the year I had it. I've read others say they never have problems for many many years. This stuff sticks believe me. I think it's 3M backed.
If you use a lot of armoral . on your dash your gonna have to get it all off. Prep work is important. All this info is on all the dash kit sites.
thanks on the boot link, I've looked at that before, I'll look again

Must be the picture, in real life you can tell the diff on the stock plastic silver pieces and the real aluminum. Yea the stock silver is the long horizontal pieces on the doors, and on both edges of the console stack.
ps - those boots are not exactly what I'm loking for. I want a small boot with a small hole.

I have the ricks2k boot and a TeamVoodoo Titanium knob. The boot comes with a collar -- when you remove the collar and unfurl the end of the boot, it tapers perfectly into the bottom of the knob and stays in place (the hole is about the same size as the stick). I have the boot with small perforations just like our seat covers.

Adventurist.
As for your shift boot, I had the same problem and fabricated a solution in the past.
I used a 1/2" washer with a drilled hole on the side, combined it with a drilled drain stopper from Lowe's and assembled in this fashion:
Upsidedown stopper, washer /w ziptie (anchoring itself into the washer's side hole) to secure existing boot, then shift knob. Now the boot sit's perfectly against the bottom of the knob.
Here are pictures for reference:
