Pics of the new ride

My second s2k... went with the 03 this time with the old 2.0L as opposed to the 2.2L 04 I had before....

A few things I miss on the 04 made it a little more usable than the 03, but man this thing is juiced! I couldn't wait to squeeze myselft back into one...

Why did you dump the '04?

I've been itching to get one for a while now. As soon as the shitty weather clears, I'm gonna go test one.

only had one parking spot and the s wasn't gonna be big enough for food, dog, anything i could possibly buy, etc....

I actually almost bought back my "old" 04 the guy who bought it from me wants to by the sl500,

but I got a really good deal on this 03... and the seller said to let him know when i sell it because he just got married and needs to dump it temporarily... but he wants it back

once you have one they are hard to get rid of... i was counting the days until i got one back

Is there really that much difference between the 2.0 and the 2.2?

Also, I've heard the suspension on the earlier versions is a bit more 'nervous' - what do you think?

not a whole lot, there is a tiny amount of more usable power in the 04, and the gearing made enough difference that it was faster...

stock to stock the 04 always seemed to have the edge...

the 03 seems to have a slightly tighter suspension, but the 04 seemed to grip the road better because the 04 rims are 17 x 8.5" vs the 16 x 7.5" on the 03 at about the same weight....

if i could have I would have preferred to have the 04 back, a few little things made me like it better

dual cupholders
clock on the dash not on the radio behind the facade
17's vs 16's
small changes in the styling... cleared corners and a few lines changed

either way once you get behind the wheel all bets are off, a driver's race any day

and obviously i didnt care enough to wait to pick up another 04 since they have been discontinued for 06

Good stuff - be sure to post pics when you get your Volks.

BTW - nice car and congrats.

so, FX35 + 03 s2k = the new rides! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Well right now it looks like rain. I was planning on detailing the car Saturday too so the entire day may be a rain out.

Why did you dump the '04 S2k? You didn't hang on to that for long

we didn't want to dump it, long story but a now friend of ours has it, and we almost bought it back from him...

our condo in vienna only had one parking space, so we tried keeping it at laura's parents house in their garage but going back and forth wasn't worth it...

but we close on a new place in tyson's on monday and we will have three parking spaces and i missed the S so much we had to get a new one...

i had surgery to get chopped off at the knees....

Yeah i've tried to squeeze into an S before and its a little tight. Too tight for a daily driver but God I would love to have one for the weekends.

the 04 had more room... i liked it better... but they are so tight on the road...

i told laura i wasn't gonna mod this one, but it is already lowered and she wants volk's as bad as i do...

i would kill to supercharge this thing... it would really be scary fast, it just wouldn't hang on the strip...

if you get a chance I know it is a long drive but I would love to see your cl... this weekend or sometime in the future

It's really interesting how a supercharger fits so nicely in there... almost like the factory planned on people modding their S2000s... (engine placement and RWD have alot to do with the way it's packaged tho').

Its the best looking "kit" I think i've ever seen.

If only it made more power at lower RPMs.

They are pretty different. I personally like the more 'nervous' suspension of the earlier cars. Those early cars actually make you think while you drive, which to me is far more rewarding for when you get the driving right. The newer ones are too 'idiot proof' for me.

Wait a second....it just occured to me who you are (I think). Do you have a 'significant other' named Laura that had a silver '04?? I think I met you two at Wake The Dragon last year. I drove my white NSX because the S2000 was in the shop.

Well....I know that I was drinking beer with you guys and some of the other Mid-A peeps after the Dragon. I will be back at the Dragon this year, and I will actually be in Virginia this coming weekend at the Mid-A mod day. Yeah...I know...I live in Indiana, but oh well. A little driving never hurts.

The total trip should be about 1,600 miles and I am driving the NSX. I really do not care about high mileage, so I figured I may as well drive that. Strangely the NSX is more comfortable for me over long drives.

I cannot remember where I ate...just that I was drinking beer in the hotel room with the gang. That was when 'tenblade' passed out and everyone was messing with him.

when everybody was playing the wheel cam videos of the dragon from that day, i think i was sunburnt all to hell and feeling lightheaded to begin with... good times

we are gonna try to make it down to the dragon this year but we either need to pick up some rear tires or some rims and tires and in a hurry.... we are cutting it close here
