Pics of my E
I sold my Acura 3 years ago and had a honda accord, but I have had the E for about a year now. I really like it.
Its a 5spd manual 4x4 with 39,xxx miles. Just did the clay bar and polish and oil change.
It is lowered by 1.5 inches all around as well with skunk 2 springs.

Not at all. Elise/Exige would work, too.

Add me to the "duped" list who thought this was about the E-class
And add me to the list of those who actually like the Element. My dad has an Element Ex and he loves that car, uses it for work (appliance repair) and its very roomy without the rear seats for the cargo.

I think it's great for interior practicality, but cannot, for the life of me, understand why they would hinge the rear door like that. It just ruins so many possibilities for me. You can't open the back door unless the front door is open too, right? and it's hinged on the back so you open it into things as well. Otherwise, I would've considered it for so many great reasons...but that alone makes the rest of it awkward and impractical to use.

Cool pics.... the paint looks really clean after all that work!
Wouldn't having both doors open that way actually make for more room to maneuver things in and out of the interior? Assuming there isn't a vertical structure bar between the front and rear door, that would mean there's a lot of room to get things in and out.... at least that's how I see it.

My FJ has the same rear door hinge and I've never had a problem with it. I've never found it impractical either as I've never been in a situation where I needed to open the rear door only, so every time I needed to open the rear door, the front was already opened, so it wasn't a big deal

If it weren't for that, I'd find it to be a great vehicle with versatile options for the interior!
I thought it was gonna be a BMW of some sort...e30, e36, e92 yada yada....
I like Element. But I would probably never get to own one. I drive sedans or coupes, my wife wants something for families with snob appeal....BMW Wagon, MDX, X5, etc.

The only thing I don't like about the element is that it only seats 4. Other than that, I really like it. Especially without all of the rubber body cladding that the earlier ones had...
Never had children in the back, rear passengers, dropping someone off, getting a dog in and out, having someone who needs to sit at the other side of the car without a front seat passenger on the same side? Would also seem annoying to have someone get in the front and rear seats at the same time since both would need to stand in the same spot to do it, unlike doors that hinge in the typical way. No door handle. I guess it's not a big deal if you never really use the back seat. I'd find it annoying to have a car where the rear can't open independently. I find it impractical in that sense.

If you've ever used a coupe, then this would fall in-between a coupe and a 4-door. Much more practical then a coupe, but not quite as convenient as a full 4-door.
Not sure about the Element, but the FJ is more of a utility/off-roader. Most owners aren't letting kids in and out the back on a daily basis... so the hinged door really isn't a problem.
But yeah, if this was a primary family hauler... I could see where hinged doors like that would be a PITA...
The SC comes with carpet, all other trims have rubber floors standard. I wouldn't hose the thing out, as there are still electronics in there that could get wet, but some simple green and a wipedown is all you need to get it nice and clean.
When I saw the thread title i thought it was "E" as in "E-class" benz.
The only Elements I like are the SC editions because the exterior is painted one solid color. I don't like the dual colored/unpainted bumpers on cars like the Element or GTI. IMO it makes the car look cheap as if the manufacturer was lazy or cutting corners.

It gets pretty good mileage. My most recent trip of driving 70-75 mph on the freeway for about 60 miles and around Indianapolis for a bit and back again I averaged 26.7 mpg. I am pretty happy with that.
Clay Baring is easy. You can do it just read the instructions.
But just don't start a new post entitled, "check out my dad's F" 'cause I'd be doubly disappointed to see an F-350 where I expected to an IS-F.

...and only seeing pics of a Ford Econoline would have been more disappointing.
