Picked Up a 2014 528i xDrive

Just purchased a CPO 2014 528i xDrive with 9,600 miles for the Mrs, I'm still going with my 2010 TL. It's only got the turbo 4, which for the Mrs is more than sufficient. In sport mode its got some gimme, it averages great mileage as well.

Cheers,

Nick

I'm sure all married men on this thread are familiar with the term 'happy wife, happy life!'

Congrats. I drove one like it for a couple of days as a loaner from the dealership. I was very surprised at how well the T-4 did with that big of a car; it was more than adequate.

BMW has their new CPO program where their warranty is now one year unlimited miles, but I was able to add a 2nd year with unlimited mileage for $1k. So the mfg warranty and maintenance plan expires 9/2018 and the CPO kicks in until 9/2020. My mechanic looked at it and said it was in excellent condition. The CA was awesome to deal with and the transaction went well.

@2012wagon-

The price and miles were great, I think with these low miles, it made sense to buy it. If your sis can find a 3 year old coming off lease, it makes good sense.

@ttribe-

I was pleasantly surprised at how much gimme the car has for a turbo 4. But it seems as many car makers are going to the turbo 4 now.

Cheers,

Nick

Congrats! Low miles for that year, too.

I have the N20 motor also, but in a smaller package (2-series). FYI, BMW underrates most of their engine specs for some reason - it is listed at 240HP / 260 TQ, but in reality, it actually makes closer to 270 HP / 290 TQ. Plenty of power for a daily.

Thank you kindly. Tons of 2014/2015 around here coming off lease, that she is looking at. She wants a red interior only, which has limited her choice somewhat. The "1k" you paid for the extra year, is that standard, or you negotiated it down to 1k?

Appreciate the info.

BMW CPO used to be 2 year 50k miles, I believe around 9/1/17 they changed it to 1 year unlimited mileage with an option for a 2nd year. I don't know what the price is but based on the BMW Forums, I thought $1k was a fair price as my wife typically puts on 25k miles per year, so I figure in 3-3.5 years, she'll have a total of about 75k, for me it was piece of mind to grab that extra year. We saw one with the cinnamon interior, my wife preferred the black but I was ok with it.
