Picked up an '06 Wrangler Rubicon, deal went bad...

I offered to a few of my very good customers the chance to do a short term lease in the summertime for something fun. A lot of my community goes down to the Jersey shore for the summertime, and need a car to commute, or just something fun to cruise in. Once June comes along, I get a lot of calls for cars like this, and never thought to offer it until now. It wouldn't be cheap, you're talking about minimum $1,000 a month for at least 3 months, then they give it back to me and I do what I have to do with it. $1,000 may seem steep for, say a Mustang convertible, but think about it, where else can you lease a car for a couple months? You can rent a convertible from the rental companies, but how much would it be, especially in NY? Minimum $300/weekly...Makes $1,000 a month sound cheap, plus you can get what you want, not what they offer!
So I did it this year for only a few people this summer. Downside for me is that I'm tying up money for a few months, because I'm laying out the money to buy the cars. I register it to them, titled to my company (I don't have to pay tax as a dealer), and I'm listed on their insurance as the additional insured, so I'm protected through their insurance too. The bills come from my company. I'm the bank, in essence.
Anyway, car #1 was a smooth transaction, and I'll have to see how it works out when I get it back in a few months, whether I break even, make some or lose some. If that works out good, I'll offer it to a few more people next year, but get it started earlier so I can buy the cars better (convertible in the summer=snowthrower in the winter)
Car #2 was not as expected. It's from the same family that car #1 came from, but a relative of them. They give me a lot of business, probably 10-15 cars a year from them. This side of the family is a bit on the weird side. Car#1 couldn't care what I got them, as long as it was a convertible. Car#2, they were a little more specific on what they wanted, but one of their choices was a black wrangler. They said they didn't care which one it was, as long as it's a wrangler. I picked one up from the dealer auction last week, paid big money for the car for what it is, went to them last week to show them the car, the kid that was going to drive it thought it was "too rugged" for him, because it was a Rubicon. After speaking to all his siblings and father, I have to get sell it and get them another one, but more basic. Problem is, there aren't a whole lot out there in the auctions in Black, so not much to choose from. I really want to tell them to go to hell, because this was an expensive mistake, but I can't because they are one of my best customers. So now this is what I'm stuck with:
2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
36k miles
Automatic
Dual Top
LOADED with just about every factory option, INCLUDING Navigation,
Has a bunch of aftermarket extra's such as Manik tubular steps, grill and PIAA foglights...

Oh well...I'd love to keep it for myself, but I don't need it now...

Too rugged for a wrangler, IMO they shouldn't even make any other models. What a :ghey: Just hearing a statment such as that about that car makes me angry. Like when people say a sports car is "too powerful."

But I guess you can't say that to a customer

This is true, but to uninstall it and then re-install it costs money, and I paid all the money for this car, I didn't buy it cheap that would suggest me having money to play with that I would want to invest any more into it.

Jeeps are cake to work on- you could probably uninstall most of the stuff yourself. I was just saying this because you will make more money off those parts separately than you will with reselling the jeep anyway- so in this case everyone wins
