He clearly likes his wheels judging by the 4 foot space he left between the curb. But yea I am not a fan of them either, they are too big and not my style.

That 488 GTB...

If I'm the Ferrari owner, though, I'm not too thrilled with how close that Nissan is parked.

Got my first taste & drive of the new LC. Car is fantastic.
Coming off the trailer.

After Inspection - awaiting us to take her up to upper docks to get inside

Quick pic of the interior before we put her on stage; you can see the stage ramps.

Later in the night during the preview party. I'll have a lot more, better shots with my camera to share.

Good stuff.

Nice to see the LC in the "wild", so good to see Lexus with a luxury coupe again. Interior looks fly.

Got any comments on driving experience?

That turn stick selector thing that's usually on the steering column but is in the left side of the gauge cluster is interesting in the LC.

I think the turn signal / light stalk is still on the steering column. That other doodad might be something for the in dash display?

Left side is for traction control, right side is for the Drive Mode Select (Eco/Sport/Sport+ Modes)

They sort of remind me of Shrek's ears

It's very, very smooth and the handling feels tight; I can see why it's been compared a bit to higher end BMWs or entry-level Astons. The sides of the front end hang lower than they appear, so railroad tracks or any major dips may take some careful creeping over to avoid scraping. Or, at least I crawled over them since it was Lexus' vehicle & my first thought would be how screwed I'd be if I damaged it in any way.

We have a demo car coming in May for a couple days, but I probably won't get another chance at it til' June to really drive it. My understanding is that although the Hybrid production started in Jan, and the V8 starts this month, they're building up an inventory before they begin shipping them.

I feel like our Dallas show is one of the weakest in turns of automobile turnout. Not even a large showing of local car clubs. Learned our stage was probably the biggest highlight of the show in terms of upcoming vehicles. Alfa had a tiny stage for the new Guilia, Ford only had the facelifted 5.0 (no RS, Raptor, etc), Chevy didn't even have a C7Z or ZL1 1LE.

Austin's wasn't that much better. I'm surprised every year by the small Austin show. All this money in this town. I'm more surprised to here that about the Dallas show.

This was the first year BMW/Volvo did not even participate. I don't think it's a solid sign for our future unless you like trucks.

That sucks. We did have all of the one's you mentioned. The only cool car BMW had on the floor was an M3 though.

edit: Volvo didn't show in Austin either.

Saw two examples of 1970s GM metal (or fiberglass!) while waiting for new wheels to be mounted on the TL today. Enjoy.

1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (6.6L/403 ci V8 4AT making 185 hp)
1982 Chevrolet Corvette (C3 5.7L/350 ci V8 4AT making 200 hp)

Here is an article I found on it with more info/pics about his build: Endless Journey: Building The Ultimate Street Supra - Speedhunters
