I put a deposit down on a silver/ebony with nav. Deposit is fully refundable if I decide I don't like it after a test drive. Delivery on Oct. 6. I've never wanted three weeks to pass more quickly than I do now.

 

Just received my build date of 10/13 with delivery of 10/25. I wonder if the delivery date is optimistic...

my salesguy confirmed yesterday the build date for 10/25 and delivery of 11/06 , i think this is too damm late!! isn't it ? he didn't know why ,but it's gonna find out 4 me,

That sucks. When did you put your deposit down? I just contacted my dealer. He said that he does not have build date info yet? Maybe he'll know something next week.

I put my deposit in about a month ago, i think is plenty of time for them to have the car ready before that date, they also explain to me that the car will go on sale Oct.6th,but the actual delivery to customers won't be until Oct.27th, they will be doing like a Cocktail-introduction Party before the 27th ,

No build date, but she said they had 17 TL's on their first allotment that was due in the 1st week of Oct. I chose my car from that list of 17. So, I can assume it's been/being built already, and is on it's way.

 

Well, based on my understanding, I think the build to delivery time for you car is about right. Some people put deposits down VERY early. The orders for the October allocation went in on or around Sept. 7th nationwide. Any deposits after that date are designated for the November allocation. So, I think you fall somewhere right in between. That might be why your car is coming the latter part of October.

The date is quickly approaching folks!!

 

Maybe it depends on the dealer as well. I put my deposit down yesterday (9-16), and I am scheduled to be on the first allotment in early Oct. They actually let me pick my model from the allotment sheet. Unless of course, they are pulling my chain.

 

Yeah, I've heard that a large Acura dealer vs. a small dealer can make all the difference.

tl04, do you know if there were a lot of deposits ahead of yours?

You might get lucky and take early delivery. SSM with Ebony should be popular. The Navi is a toss up.

 

I just found out the build date for mine is the week of September 22. I think that should put it at the dealers around the October 6 time frame people are talking about.

To those who are considering Anthracite, is the 3rd picture in the Gallery on the 04TL mini-site the Anthracite color? I think so, but wanted to see if everyone agrees.

They had about 7 people down for deposits before me, and i'm talking about Rick Case Acura-Ft.Lauderdale, one of the bigest dealers around, i saw they order of 68 units!!,
back when i put my deposit the manager even show me from that list of 68 cars one with my spec's (SSM/Ebony) ,like you said it's a very popular color combo. and there's more than one coming, so i don't get it?

Maybe. Every time I see that picture, it seems to change colors. It could be Desert Mist? What about the 12th picture on the same gallery? That looks the same as the 3rd pic? I hope that is Anthracite as well.

This is exactly what happened to me. The dealer had two sets of allocations -- one for October and one for November. I picked one of the cars from the October allocation and was told that the car is already manufactured, but would not be delivered to the dealership until approximately October 6. The dealer expects to actually receive their cars a few days before October 6 so that they can get them ready for delivery on October 6. Keeping my fingers crossed.

 

Maybe he just doesn't know what he's talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if you got yours sooner.

Yes, I think the 12th picture is the Anthracite as well (at least I hope b/c it looks cool).

That's the good thing about these deposits. If I happen to dislike the Anthracite (I don't think I will, b/c from the pictures I think are Anthracite it looks pretty hot), I'll just switch to another color. Of course, that will probably mean a month or two wait.

Did you find any other pictures of Anthracite?

 

Other existing Acura vehicles come in Anthracite. I can't remember exactly which one I saw, but it was either an '03 CL or the '03 TL. If your local dealer has one, you should check it out. You can get a good idea what it would like like on the '04 TL.

 

No I have not seen any more pics. I did see an older TL in the lot at the dealer which claimed to be Anthracite. It was little darker than carbon gray for the TSX. I think you will be happy.

I've got a 03 Black TL-S. One of the colors I looked at last year when I was making my decision was Anthracite. So I know for sure it was on the 03 TL's.

 

So you chose black over anthracite? Any reason? Just curious.

 

Had white, red, and silver cars before. My wife just liked the look of the black better. It's her car, so her choice, but I also liked the black better. I'm looking at getting a black 04 TL myself. But won't make up my mind until I see all the colors in person.
